Can anyone recommend a shop in San Diego to get the 2018 LED headlights installed on my 2017 SR5?

Most are doing this themselves. You can purchase a harness here from @iHacker . And, I believe he's got instructions.

No wiring needed. It's all plug and play with connectors. If you don't like the idea of switching the turn signal pins in the connector, maybe splice the wires instead??

Yup. I agree. Read the threads for iHacker and eledobleu. Both offer plug n play harnesses. The differences are length of warranty and DRL (daytime running lights). I had a deal set up to buy 2018 lights from a member (who backed out; I hope he'll reach out time next year), and was ready to do this myself. I'm in SD East County. If you bite the bullet and commit to doing this, I'll join you and hand you beer and tools. Or patiently work through it while you hand me beer and tools.

Alternatively, if this freaks you out, there's a guy who is well-recommended for great work, based out of Vista. Check the SoCal B.S. Thread to find him. Or PM me to schedule a mod day. :)

I want some 2018's, but hoping "my" deal has a do-over next year. So... will settle for BBQ, beer, and a Tundras Homie meet-up.

Shall we make this official, invite our president, @Marty McFly, and we can just descend on @UTAHRTK and put beautiful 2018 headlights into his truck while he works the carne asada?!!

Damn. I appreciate the hospitality. The headlights will be after the sliders- I need to purchase both... I have no choice but to install the headlights myself now - I will let you know when I am ready to pull the trigger and perhaps this will develop into a meet.
Speaking of sliders- what are your thoughts on Demellos? I will be doing bolt on...eyeballing rock crushers. I have a ton of shit Id like to do to the truck. The lift / tires is a big one that will need to wait till I wear these tires down. Trying to have a master plan with regard to lift, bumper, light bars... want to keep her somewhat light as well as make sure everything jives. Love to hear your input. Thanks again!

I like your thinking, @UTAHRTK. I too plan not to replace wheels or tires as long as my original tires are good.

Demellos are cool. That Riverside location + being able to choose between bolt or weld = hard to pass. I think... @Grendel has 'em-? (I suffer from CRS so, if that's not right, I'll scratch my brain to recall who I meant to say). All said though, I'll do SDHQ sliders. Lightweight, fit super-close to the cab, full support with all-bolt-on and no drilling!
We found some new guy's thread to hijack = PARTY!!!!

Now that you're up to speed, we can start working on dates. First part of May works well for me (I vote we get past upcoming school breaks, holidays) and allows time for us to purchase any mods we want to put on while we're together....

    Who's in?

Okay, looks like this is about to get Real!
    Fixed it for you.

We're not really pressuring you here. :boink:, but definitely don't want you paying labour $ for stuff we can help each other do together. Also (so you don't flee in terror due to the possibility you'll need a permit to host the size of group that might show up to "help you"), you should know we've had a good time when we've met up for (barely) off-road adventures, but we're all still getting to know each other. We can parlay your need for a bit of help with headlights into a full show-up-help-each-other-with-mods event... or a couple of us can do that... and we can plan a different meet-and-play to get our Tundra social on. Let us know what you're up for.
I love this! You, me, Tony, and Marty... the start of a good party comin' together. Just need to figure out where, and if it's a mod day or a wheeling day...!

You left us unsupervised for a minute. :anonymous:

I always say, "word!", but let's give the OP a minute to process his instant posse of new friends (not everyone adjusts to your celebrity immediately :fistbump:). He will adjust though-- then he won't want to go anywhere without a full entourage.

I'm waaaay up for a meet that's actually in San Diego! ;)

Let's give New Homie his 24 hours, so we know if he's into this, and what area he lives in. We'll hafta find a place to meet (what if he lives in an apartment at the beach with no Tundra parking... or is smart enough to say he does?). Plus... I suppose it's possible he won't be ready with sliders and headlights by May :notsure: (but what else would he do with his tax return? :spending:)

Once we know approximately 'yes', we'll know what thread to start. Good?

Ooh, @Marty McFly : how 'bout a 'SoCal to Utah for mods and off-road testing' thread? I like this .

I would love to! Before I moved to another position with my job I actually got out to Mira Loma/Ontario area every 2 months or so. Lots of places I'd like to explore out there!

Maybe I can talk my wife into a road trip. =]
