Had a BDS 3" lift and some 35s installed on my Tundra. Shop needed to trim the frame horn to get rid of rub. I agreed, but they were overzealous with the cut and took a bite out of my frame. It doesn't look like they did a good job patching it either. How serious is this to the structural integrity of my frame? Or is this not a serious issue?[IMG]

Search the forum for body mount chop or cab mount chop and you will see better pics. From what I can tell, it looks ok.

Death wheel got away from him quite a bit on the side there?
Does the shop consider this "done" with the sharp, raw edges and no paint?
Or was this an in-progress picture?

Structurally, it's probably fine, but I would not be happy with that.

They had my truck in the shop for 4 full days for this lift. They said they would paint it and make it look nice. I told them I had needed the truck because I was getting zero updates on the project even though it was a full day over the estimated time. So I’m sure I rushed them from doing the perfect job. But I also can’t have my truck out for 2 weeks. I’m debating finishing it myself.

This is a professional shop? Wow. The CMC I did you couldn't even tell.

I would ask that they weld it back up...That slit wont hurt anything but it shouldn't be there

I’m afraid to give it back to them. Given the quality of the work, I might look for another place to remedy the weld.

understandable...get it welded back up. Id want a hole drilled at the end of the cut and then welded back.

They offered to have me bring it back in, and that they'd have it looking like it never happened. To be honest, the fact he didn't immediately acknowledge the mistake, and the terrible attempt at fixing it, leads me to believing it'll be in the shop for a while and done poorly. Think I'll get an opinion from another place.

Is it a big shop? All trade and technical industries are scraping the bottom of the barrel these days to stay fully staffed. Unfortunately in that industry, you won’t find out someone sucks until they screw up a couple peoples trucks. If a tech screwed it up, but the manager wants to now make it right, I’d let them fix it. A competent welder can easily make that look pristine.
