Thnxs shifty great info here in this link. I removed connector found pins 8 & 6 broke off inside harness. Put
Connector back together as I could not get pins out. P0986 is cleared but now I suspected broken pin 6 is pressure solenoid p2716 which has come in. I suspected both these might have been corroded. My next questions is the housing connector on the tranny is that a replaceable part. If I can’t get pins out of the harness then i would need a new harness as well. Not what I was expecting to find or happen.

You don't want to see what harnesses cost in some cases, but the long and short is this: Yes, you can buy the section of harness, look for a paper tag somewhere on the harness in question to get the part number, usually ten digits in format #####-#####. Also, the individual connectors are available for purchase from Toyota also, but a little more complex to find ever since Toyota appears to have in-housed their parts system and the exploded diagrams aren't too easy to work through (there's a screencap of the electrical connectors on here, if you can give a pic). Not sure if it's an option, but pilfering one from a JY may be your best economical bet.
