Sequoia Fuel gauge

    (The pic) My 2001, 233K 2WD Sequoia on this week's trek to Munising to trailer my son's car back to Wisconsin...13+ hours through a snowstorm...

    My question is on the fuel gauge...it's pretty inconsistent...may read idiot-light-empty after I just topped it off...may be accurate...the DTE figure doesn't seem to track the fuel gauge (It will accurately reflect a full tank range even when the gauge is erroneously showing empty.), but it is pretty imprecise of course...

    Does anyone know if this is common? An easy fix? Love this vehicle, but want to be practical too...it's 17 years old...
