Well, I can't believe it but I pulled the trigger on a truck way earlier than I thought I would. But the deal was just too good. And I hated to finance (really love paying cash for my things) but when I sell my car and a few other things around the house just collecting dust, I may very well knock out the loan.

So what did I get? I found a 2005 Tundra Double Cab SR5 for a little over $13,000 with only 96,000 miles. Yup, those miles blew me away. The best part is, it was leased from a [fairly] local dealership, then the lease was bought out by the guy, and he brought it in for literally every service, including new wiper blades and air filters. Then he traded it in just a week ago. So I have a full printout of detailed history of the work done and the originating dealer is just an hour away.

I'm super happy with it, even though I had to finance some of it. I just didn't think I'd find another one like this again and I didn't want to pass it up.

Honestly, I was sold immediately after stepping in and starting it up. I've driven a 2nd generation Tundra before and it 'felt' like a truck while this 1st gen is extremely comfortable to drive. I feel high up and secure and all but the visibility in the cab is fantastic. Really drives like a Camry in a way.

Thanks everyone for the input, I really do appreciate you chiming in!

Yup, done just a little bit ago. I'm tellin' ya, the guy did every single bit of service at the same dealer. Love these records!

Human nature is funny, I sure as hell wouldn't have spent $1000 on a timing belt change if I was going to sell it a few months later. And I'm pretty ocd about my cars, change oil on time, only hand wash them, etc.

Of course, as today just about starts my official first week of ownership, an issue pops up. Nothing crazy but I haven't investigated it yet. On a cold start, there's a bit of belt squeal from under the hood. I'll be digging through the forums and taking a better listen later to see what I see. Other than that, this truck is fantastic.

Sounds like you need a new serpentine belt. Very simple job.
