Secret Santa 2023: Thank you and we hope you had a great time!!

Ok Secret Santas heads up....

The elves would like for everyone to do a quick double check of the Participant List to verify that your username is listed...

If you're signed up, and you're on the list; then you're all set and have nothing else to do until the Recipient PMs come out

If you signed up, and you're not on the list; then you need to send a 'PM' to @Tundras.com Forum Santa ASAP so we can verify your eligibility, figure out what went wrong, and get you on the list!!!!

 

Well, not being able to participate this year due to post count helped me in a big way. My wife unexpectedly lost her job on Monday so that pretty much puts a damper on all things holiday for us this year. Hopefully next year I'll be in.

That definitely sucks... what type of industry/work was she doin'??

 

She was the Director of Customer Success for a startup that was doing really well but is now failing because their product/market was largely based around real estate. It went from being amazing and having huge growth to losing everything in the matter of 6 months.

 

Damn.

 

Sounds a lot like investing... I'm sure it's far from pleasant right now, but the good news is that if she is motivated and skilled enough to be a part of that during its rise then she's definitely got what it takes to be successful elsewhere, and I'm confident she'll find something that is just as satisfying and lucrative to her in the near future; in the meantime, we all wish you and your family well during the holidays

 

Thanks for the encouraging words. We're hoping she can find something else pretty quick. This was an ideal job for her though as it paid really well and she was able to work remotely. So she was always home when my daughter got home from school etc.

The names of all recipients have been distributed to their respective Secret Santas. If, for some reason, you're on the participation list and DID NOT receive a 'recipient name', please PM @Tundras.com Forum Santa immediately so we can get that worked out. However, Santa's Elves have checked the list, not once, but twice and everyone should be covered.

Now the fun starts, please be sure to visit the Wish List Thread and search for your recipient's post in that thread for some gift ideas; but don't stop there... Take some time to peruse the forum and spend time viewing the posts/threads of your recipient; many of them have their own build threads, so it's not only a good way to learn about their interests and get gift ideas, but it's also a way to learn about our members and to grow as a community here We are not saying to ignore any recipient's specific gift request, but it doesn't hurt to do a little sleuthing and get a better feel for your recipient and their interests... and who knows you may surprise yourself and come up w/a gift idea that really brings a smile to the recipient's face and adds to their holiday season!!!!

Also, remember that it's okay to start sending your gifts immediately; there's no reason to wait until the last minute, and we'd like for everyone to have received their gifts by Christmas Day!!!! If you run into any delays (production, shipping, etc.) and it appears your gift is going to be late, please PM @Tundras.com Forum Santa as soon as you know so that we can MSG your recipient and make them aware of the delay.

Finally, if you have any issues or run into problems carrying out your Secret Santa roles, please PM @Tundras.com Forum Santa as soon as you are aware of the problem so we can help you navigate whatever issue you are having. We are more than happy to help, but if we don't know there's a problem we can't do anything to help

You should all have your recipient's gifts selected, cleverly wrapped, and en route to them by now. Anyone who hasn't at least completed the above steps, please do so within the next day or two to avoid delays in your recipient receiving their gift(s).

Santa would love for everyone to have received theirs by Dec 15th. However, he does understand that delays and life happens; just keep @Tundras.com Forum Santa updated w/a quick PM if you anticipate any major delays in the process

Also, as a recipient, please try to post in the Secret Santa 2023: What Did You Receive? either same day or next day if at all possible, after receiving your gift(s). It leaves you Secret Santa wondering if you received your package or if it fell victim to porch piracy when they are showing it has been delivered but don't see a post from you indicating receipt of your gift

Thank you everyone for your participation and efforts, and please know that overall it seems like this event is going pretty smooth and without too many issues, so Santa wants to give you his sincerest thanks for keeping the Christmas Spirit alive

Well Santas...

Christmas Eve is almost here, so I just wanted to reach out to each of you and see if there are any last minute gifts still waiting to be delivered and to remind anyone who hasn't to post up what you've received so your Secret Santas know they made it to you

Also, if any Santas need to make any last minute notifications to their recipients, please PM me w/your request and I'd be happy to deliver the message.

I will check back tomorrow and have any last minute notifications sent out on your behalf Christmas Eve. Again, thank you all for your participation, and I have to say it's been very impressive and heart warming to see some of the gifts that were delivered. If you haven't seen it, click on the 'received' thread and look at what one of our Secret Santas sent last minute to their 'a bit under the weather' recipient!!!

Ok Secret Santas... this will be Santa's last post of the year
