As you may or may not be aware I have been on the search for a 05-07 sequoia for some time. I have found one, in California. I live in Indiana. The seller has sent me this video of the undercarriage but I am unable to attach it for some reason. I have paused the video and taken a screen shot of the area in question. It looks super clean to me but I want to make sure I’m not missing anything. I am not sure if there is something leaking up around the rack or not. Any help or opinions would be

Right, he listed it as pending as we came to an agreement on price. He then sent the video/pictures and I what I thought was a leak of some sort. I think I’m going to try and find a mechanic, out that way, to take a look at it before I fly all the way out there.

Looks like it was sprayed with fluid film.

It’s a CA vehicle so I don’t think that’s the case. He did say that the timing belt/water pump were replaced in the last 2k miles and does have paperwork showing that. I wonder if it has to do with that.

I see it’s in California - not far from the ski mountains where they lay down tons of salt every winter. Maybe I’m wrong but I wouldn’t say it’s unheard of for CA vehicles to have any rust prevention.

You maybe correct! I just had him send me some more pics and the calve covers are definitely leaking.

I’d be more interested in the story behind the butt splice. Leaking valve covers and exhaust leaks off the manifold both very common on these.

Funny you say that! I circled that and sent the pic back to him asking what’s up!

Do you know what that sensor is? Is is something to do with the SAIS?

It has been leaking for awhile it appears, did they run it low on oil? Is it 2 wheel drive? I am not too far, maybe 90 minutes. Those trucks are a dime a dozen out here for less. I have an 02 LTD 4WD that to me is only worth 6-7G's

It’s 4x4. I’d prefer a 05-07, if you know of any pass it my way! Or are you saying you want to sell yours?!?!?

That's the wiring connector to that specific fuel injector.

No I am not plugging lol. If you find anything around Sac or Stockton I can check it out. The 07's and up cost more obviously. We are casually looking for a 20-22

What does it connect to on the other side? Can it be replaced or is it part of a bigger harness?

Definitely part of a bigger harness. Should tie into a large loom that has all the injector wiring and works it's way back to the ECU. If it works I'd probably leave it alone or just solder the wires together in a less redneck fashion

Right on, I believe the other wire looks chaffed too. So they will both get the soldier treatment!

Looks like the leak I had. Might be coming from the oil cooler o-ring and/or valve cover. Leak tends to travel on the oil pan lip and spray the back flywheel inspection plate.

i was loosing about half a quart of oil every 5k miles. Had the leak for about 2 years
