Hello everyone. This is my first post and enjoy this site and everyones input. I apologize if this has been discussed or is in another thread. First off I love this truck and wish this wasn’t my first post. I own a black 2016 Crewmax with black/charcoal fabric seats. I was drinking water ( 100% water no additives) and I spilled some the went on my lap then to the drivers seat. Instantly I saw water marks appear. I was somewhat alarmed as I have owned many cars and many Toyotas in my life and never have seen this. Two days later these watermarks are still there. Is this a common issue? A defect? Is there something that someone can suggest to remove these stains?Any help is appreciated.

I had a small watermark on one of my seats. I got out my small carpet cleaner and filled it with just water. Cleaned the whole seat. It dried uniformly again. I want to say whatever causes it is whatever chemicals they use on the new material when it’s made. Whether it’s protectant or the new car smell LOL. You could even try just a wet towel and wipe down the whole seat.

Damp cloth and blend it in. After a good clean everywhere, let it dry, ScotchGuard it.

Welcome from WI. A damp, lint free cloth should get rid of the spots. Go lightly in a circular motion, that will help to lift the fibers and remove the spot. After it dries you can always spray the seats with scotch guard. I spray mine once a year with a healthy coating and I recently had a coffee cup leak and drip some spots on the seat that I didn't find until the next day. A damp paper towel was all it took to remove the coffee stains. You'd never be able to tell and my seats are light grey.

I got covercraft waterproof seat covers and also applied this to them. Plus I can use it on the house furniture.

Thanks for all the helpful information and tips. I’ll let you all know how it turns out tomorrow. Definitely going to use Scotch Guard or an equivalent

303 Aroespace protectant makes a product called Marine Gaurd fabric spray. I have a whole bottle (I don’t know why since I have leather).

If it works anything like the other 303 products it keep everything out of your seats

Thanks very much for all the wise words. The water marks came out. I used a damp microfiber cloth.
