    Hello all

The piece that covers the recline buttons etc seems to have broken or gotten loose?

    2023 trd pro

Has anyone experienced this? And if so, what route did you take? And do you have part numbers etc?

Your dealer will warranty that. Unfortunately it’s a common problem

Earlier builds have this issue with weak plastic piece. Starting about August, they use metal reinforced piece which is much stronger now

He's in a 2023 TRD Pro. That "should" be a post August build.

Good question. I bought it in October, someone backed out of an order at the local dealer and I scooped it up. Not sure what timeline would be between building it and it getting to the dealer. I’m in texas if it matters.

Take a look at this plastic piece under it, and let us know if it has a metal plate under it alongside the plastic or if it's just plastic by itself?

Dealer replaced part under warranty. As far as I know it is not metal lined or anything according to my SA. He also told me Toyota will only cover this part one time, next time it will have to be paid for. YMMV

That’s what they said. Who knows. If it happens again maybe I’ll try another dealer. I wonder how hard replacing it is. The part is $70 or so online and it costs me more in wasting my time going and sitting at the dealer and dealing with these folks. Lost about 4 hours of my day the other day.

Thats the problem. The solution is to fix the problem with the exact same problem. Good job Toyota, this truck is such an unmitigated disaster it is absolutely closing in on the worst Toyota ever built. In fact, that would make a great thread. Toyota's throughout history that are worse than the 3rd Gen Tundra.

    Still rolling stock baby....
The tundra I had was denied coverage, that was before I removed the offending piece. Its a crappy design, the other tundras I had, 2013 thru 2019 year models, never had a seat trim issue.

I went to my dealership b/c after 18 months of getting in and out this the damage.
They think it should be covered and are ordering the part. They are going to let me know. I lift myself in and never hit it, and try to pivot on my bent leg with my foot on the sill to get out. Bummed it’s not holding up.

There’s one clip in the center failing after repeated stress plus a clip towards the front that snapped.

I had the same piece break. Never took any photos but took it to the dealer and they replaced it. I got a call the next day that it was ready because they already had ordered the part for someone else who didn’t need it. Kinda interesting.

Also tried to ask about the AC not being as cold as I’d like but got blown off and told it’s in spec. They did, however, after some complaining change it so the AC stays on if I had it on when I got out of the truck instead of having to turn it on every time I got in.
