    Hey guys,

Looked around the site to see if anyone had this same issue before posting but didn't find anything. I just purchased a 2017 Tundra 1794 edition and I love it. I found that the previous owner installed an aftermarket auto-start system that I assume ties into the factory alarm because I can use the remote to lock and unlock the doors. Well before I knew it had the auto-start feature I would put the key in like normal and the seat and steering wheel would move to my preset locations and when I shut the engine off it would all move away to give me more room to get in and out.

Well when I press the auto-start button, nothing moves back into place and I have to manually adjust my seat and wheel back into position. I've also got 2 seat memory buttons on my door but they only work when I start the engine with the key. When I use the remote they don't work at all. Does anyone else has these issues or does anyone know of anything I could try? Even with the remote start I still have to put my key in the ignition before driving so I would have thought that would have triggered the seat to move back but obviously it doesn't.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Sounds like a 12v solution remote start, for whatever reason on trims with seat memory, the seat and steering wheel do not activate. But I believe if you manually press the seat memory button once your in the vehicle then the seat and steering will respond, just have to use the seat button when you remote start it.

Yeah I've tried that and neither seat memory button responds. I've also tried pressing SET then the 1 button and it doesn't beep like it usually does.

Are you trying with the key on and in park?

Yes, when I just use the key to start the engine everything works as it should. When I use the remote start, I have the key in the run position and Trans in park and the buttons do not work unless I turn off and turn back on using key.

Odd, I had read about this issue, but was my understanding the button would respond.

Do you have a tpms light on till you turn key on and step on brakes?

What is more odd is when I get in the vehicle and insert my key to start it, before I even turn it my seat is already moving back to the correct position. So you'd think when I insert the key after the auto-start it would do the same thing.

I do not. Haven't even seen the TPMS light turn on at all.

Well it doesn't sound like a 12v solutions remote start then, might help to know the brand

That looks right, I don't have the second remote and I don't know if I have that pin switch hidden somewhere. I'll have to figure out what it's used for and see if it was installed. Now I know this is a shot in the dark but does anyone else have this system?

Only thing I found for compustar is people reporting the same issue you have, no fixes. Other than replacing it with a different rs. Good luck.

Ok, one last option maybe, is there a way to turn off the seat movement when I turn off the Tundra. If the seat would just stay in the same spot when I turn it off then I wouldn't have to manually move it back every time.

I think it can be done with techstream software, 2 settings for easy access, the seat and steering wheel

It ended up being resolved when I did the race tune through the bullydog gt. It wasn't an option I selected it just randomly started working after that.

No, you have to manually press the button after inserting the key

I have the 12volt solution starter. My steering column does not come down when I use the remote start. I reached out to the company and this is what they informed me:
Your vehicle has 2 devices, 1st is the Carlink device to allow the use of the app and then 2nd is the aftermarket remote starter that is the one that execute the commands. To have the vehicle steering column come down to the position set on by the memory settings once the key is inserted, it will have to be set first in the aftermarket remote starter, then you will be able to use it with the app. Have it set it up by an installer/installation shop. We don't have access to the aftermarket remote starter.

So I’m still looking for a solution to this. A bit annoying that I have to press the memory button every time I use the remote start. If anyone has found a solution please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Have you checked the settings in the head unit that turn on and off the seat and steering wheel auto tilt when the car shuts off. If I remember it’s in the vehicle customization setting?
