Is it worth it to spend 200-300 on seat covers for a Tundra? It seems that you can buy factory seat covers cheap on eBay if issues or wear out. Should I just put some fabric protector on them?

Worth every penny to me. I have Carhartts. Just popped them off for washing after a year. Easy. Seats still look brand (and I mean brand) new.

You tell me, I think they look great. Had these for over a year (Coverking) and love them. Spent 140 on the two front covers and never looked back.

I think seat covers are a good idea, especially if you got the lighter shade of the two gray Tundra cloth seats. Mine were getting a little stained after just a few months, but I have kids riding in the back seat.

I bought Wet Okole's which are great but very expensive. I don't think they look any better that Dave's Coverkings. I'm glad I got them, though. I'm going to do a thread on them soon.

I had Marathon seat covers in my previous vehicle and they were great. I ordered mine for the Tundra as soon as I got the truck. They are made to order, so I don't have them yet, but will post up some pictures once I get them.

Autoanything.com has a decent sale going on right now that you should look at. I ordered some coverking neo supreme rear seat covers mainly because I have kids back there. I will order some for the front soon also. I think it’s a good upgrade if you do anything where your getting dirty and using the truck or have kids/pets.

I put them in my '07 three years ago when I bought it, and I have had a set in my '02 for 17 years.

I had Marathons on my previous truck and loved them. I haven’t ordered yet but will for the Tundra. Great fit/finish and durable.

I ordered a complete set of Carhart Precision Fit for my '06 DC in grey . . front and back, head-rests, arm rests etc. Got an email saying to expect them the middle of January, kind of a bummer, but I get it. . . I'm in no rush, but I do wanna get them on asap because my seats are in great shape from the previous owner and I'm a slob.

Now I have to ask you who have installed seat covers that go on over your factory cloth, are they designed to allow the side airbag inside the seat to deploy properly?

Me too! I actually spilled soda on passenger seat and vacuum the puddle. No stains and didn't leak through.

Did yours come with a rear middle headrest cover? Either I accidentally threw mine away or I never got one.

Good question. With the Marathon covers, there is no accommodation for the air bag if it comes out of the side of the back of the seat. If it comes out of the bottom from behind the plastic trim, then it shouldn't be impaired. The cover tucks into the plastic, but is only held on with velcro straps, so i don't think that would bother the air bag. I do not recall seeing any portion of the back of the seat where the air bag would come out.

Yes you do. In a collision the airbag will deploy and burst the stitching in the lean back seat cover.
If you install aftermarket leather they are designed the same way as the factory covers to work with the airbag in the front seats.

I bought some Caltrend Eurosport covers for the front buckets on a Black Friday sale for about $150 including shipping. They're supposed to breathe better here in the hot south. Just put 'em on yesterday, they fit great and were easy to install. Highly recommend so far but the true test will be next summer.

I’m running Headwaters seat covers. I had marathon in my last vehicle and loved them. Due to a military move I couldn’t wait for them. I have to say that the Headwaters are every bit as good when it comes to fit. They also have breakaway stitching for air bags. If your air bags go off they will even fix your seat cover of the truck is salvageable.

My kids constantly leave prints all over, especially now in winter, muddy boots, and when it dries you can vacuum right up, no spots after.
I installed seat heaters between them and the stock seats. Works perfectly!

Yes, that's another reason why I bought RC seat cover, my 2 kids love to jump on the seats and sit on the center console.
