So according to the Seafoam directions it says normal maintenance do 1oz for every gallon. For deep cleaning do 2oz for every gallon. It goes further to say you can’t hurt it by adding too much. So by my public school mathematics I should put 76oz in a full 38 gallon tank (and I’m pretty low so it would be a great time.) I should be good right???

However, what has me nervous is running that much Seafoam through a 38 gallon tank. So cleaning is good right… maybe… but running detergent and cleaning for that prolonged amount of time at the level makes me nervous.

What makes me even more nervous is I’m making a road trip with my 6 year old son pulling a 6500lbs camper 330 miles each way. On the 23rd

I have a week and a half before my trip I just don’t want to make a dumb mistake so figured I’d ask you fine people your thoughts first.

Use two cans of Berrymans chemtool in 20 gallons of gas and drive it for a good thirty minutes and fluctuate speed a bit on a highway. Then just go about your business like normal.

    Mods, what mods?
I use Berryman on the wife's Highlander. Also used it on an older Subaru Outback with 180,000 miles. The stuff works great. Add in a can every few thousand miles, no issues with fuel injectors or have poor performance issues.

More frequent usage vs more all at once would be my opinion.

Yes, I used it to clean the injectors on my '07. It worked, and they are quieter.

I also switched to Shell gas in both trucks bout a year ago, both trucks run great and their throttle bodies seem to stay clean longer.

Why not just buy 'top tier' gasoline in the first place? Get a tank of Chevron once in a while, no need for $eafoam or any other cleaner.

There is nothing wrong with Seafoam. I don't know anything about the other products people have recommended, but they are probably also fine. My concern in your scenario would be that if you are doing a deep clean you may dislodge some gunk from the tank or fuel lines that can cause rough running for a while. I would not put anything in the tank other than fuel shortly before a long trip. Wait until you get home just in case something bad happens.

There is nothing wrong with Seafoam, but there is no real benefit to using it in these engines either - so I stopped using it in everything except lawnmowers and small engines.
