It’s worth every penny! You can buy a fast charger for $50 but it won’t look as good. This thing looks like it belongs on the center console. I agree that it should be installed by Toyota on higher trim.

 

Its probably the only real practical and worth while thing SET put out

I ordered one from my local Toyota dealer, mine will be $138 if it ever comes in. I get a discount from being in the Landcruiser Club.

 

That was easy to install and works great. Also added a blue sea 4.8 amp dual usb outlet to the rear instead of the 12v plug.

 

Great call - how did you make the wire connections to do that? I'd like to do the same when I do my installation!

 

you can release the spade connectors from the white plug (12v connector supplied with the wireless kit, do not cut your existing one) they are clipped into, and just cut off the + and crimp on a shielded spade connector (the stock connector is smaller, the Neg can be reused as is. For the Blue sea plug you need to slightly enlarge the hole, i used a step bit from the backside, it just needs a little is all, no need to go crazy.

Mines in too, worked out great! Fast Charging capable (10W) on a Samsung Note 9. I believe it is Qi wireless charging certified.

 

Cant wait for mine to come in. I ordered on the 29th.

 

For what it's worth, I ordered from Spark Parts which was on back order. Kept checking in on eBay and scored one in stock, then cancelled my previous order. More might pop up...

 

Question, I'm already tapping into the rear cigarette lighter with SE Toyota's rear-seat USB port. Would there be any issues with tapping into it again for this charger? I'd love to get this if I can.

should not be a problem, but mind the amps at max load, the blue sea pulls 4.8, the wireless is probably 4-5 (has. A 10 amp fuse as well) really only an issue if your booking other stuff to the circuit

 

The charger is 10w, ie it will NOT pull more than an amp. 10 = 12x where x is the current pulled by the charger given a 12v system.

FWIW... we are talking about total load on a circuit, the blue sea is rated at 4.8 amps, the wireless charger maybe at 1 amp... so call it 5.8 amps .. I did say whatever else you are putting on the circuit (and I believe it wires to the dash ones as well, but cannot confirm that at this point bc I don’t have a circuit diagram)...

so you still need to pay attention to the total load, not just the wireless charger (which it’s total usage listed is 10w, on a separate 3 amp fuse)

watts / volts = amps

 

Order was placed 11/25 and still waiting. I called Sparks today and said they are back ordered by 450 units. He added that they are only “alloted 1 order per day”. He says my order is one of the older ones so it should ship before end of the year. He adds that it’ll take a while for them to catch up.

Mine shipped on the 4th (not the 20th as in the pic). But it's still going to have seen more of the US than I have by the time it arrives tomorrow..
