I'm currently on stock TRD Sport Premium shocks and stock height. I'm still debating on going with 275 65 18's as they'll sit more flush with the fenders. I plan on a 2-2.5" lift once I need to replace the shocks as it is a brand new 2021.

Check out tiresize.com as you can see wheel offset and tire size differences and compare them to one another.

Actually been playing around on that site this morning. I am really like the 275/70/18. Keep the 33” tire, but narrow the width a bit.

That's also the size that appeals most but I've read that many have encountered rubbing and have had to trim. I suppose it's worth the risk as I could always bite the bullet and do a lift.

You can just do a leveling kit on the front and be just fine.

Shouldn’t run into much of an issue as I am currently running 305/55/20 (also 33”) on Bilstien 5100s.

    Are you running 5100
Did you change out your rear shocks as well? How do you like the 5100's? The height adjustable ability must be nice!

Yep, on 5100s all the way around. The front is on the top setting. So far, no complaints. I have thought out lowering the front to the middle setting though.

How do they compare in comparison to the factory Platinum shocks as far as overall ride quality? My apologies as I'm new to the truck scene! I've been a car guy all my life and Koni sport yellow adjustable shocks were my number one choice!

I've been reading up on all of the different coilover setups on here such as Bilstein 6112's, Icon, etc. and with the many choices it can all be all little overwhelming. My 2021 TRD Sport Premium is brand new as I've only had it for three weeks now and I absolutely love it! Would swapping out the stock sport Bilstein shocks for the 5100's be an overall improvement other than the fact that they're height adjustable? Thank you!

It’s a personal preference really, I have a 2018 platinum and with much research on this forum and YouTube I changed over to 6112 at the 1.9 setting and 5160. I felt a huge difference and my wife too, but like I said personal preference.
Now I didn’t do them shims on the 6112 and I can’t tell the difference with the naked eye but if you put a level on the hood it’s 1/4 inch off again personal preference. My truck is strictly a pavement queen I just wanted a better feel for my ride. I’m very happy with the setup and will throw the Ray10’s on come spring when we are done with winter here. Still debating either 275 or 285 ridge grapplers….

it depends on what you are looking for. If you want some lift in the front to level things out and still get a nice comfortable ride then I would say bang for buck go with the bilstein’s. If you are looking to keep stock height then really no reason to. I don’t know if the ride would be noticeably improved enough to make it worth it.

I went with 275 in cooper rugged trek after debating between 275 and 285.

I have a 3 inch lift so not worried too much about rubbing. Should be minor trimming even at the 285 size.
My logic was It’s about 4/10 of an inch difference in width between 275/70 and 285/70 and about 1/2 inch diameter difference. I went with the 275 since going to a +25 scs wheel will bring the tire out about an inch from where it sits now and then adding 0.8 inches (20mm) from my stock 255’s to a 275 will take it to almost two inches total. I don’t mind the look of the tire coming out a bit past the wheel well when it’s the part that begins to taper which should be about where I’ll be. Also 275’s are more readily available and weigh a little less. To each their own though. I just did a ton of research on it and figured I’d share what I found.

And that’s where I’m at too, not looking for the tires to poke out the sides to much. Did you put bumpershims on too?

I haven’t gotten my rims yet. They’re supposed to come tomorrow so hopefully I’ll have everything mounted by the end of this week. My understanding though is in my scenario with the 3/1 leveling kit I should be okay as far as bumper shims go. It seems most guys need them if they are running stock height and going w bigger tires. But I guess I won’t find out until I actually get them on

You better get your plasma cutter out lol. The height isn’t the problem, it’s the width. And a 12.5 is an inch wider than 295/70s. It would look good tho!

One guy I was chatting with on his white Pro has method wheels same off set and westcott lift. Remove the mud flaps and push the liner in. That’s with 35’s.
