I noticed the instrument panel viewing cover tend to scratch relatively easily.

April is pollen season and I have been driving with the windows open occasionally. This has the unfortunate effect of pollen landing on the interior surfaces. I wiped off the instrument panel with a microfiber cloth, but noticed I have scratched it already.

I have tried the cleaning putty, and it worked at first before turning sticky after a few months and becoming unusable. Also I have tried pre-moistened lens paper (for cameras and glasses) and it works well in removing dust but I'm not sure if it still scratches the plastic.

The best solution I have found so far is the soft detailing brush (on which the hairs are thin enough to resemble rabbit hair). The brush hasn't made any scratches to the best of my knowledge.

What do you use for cleaning the plastic cover on the instrument panel? Is there a way to remove some of the scratches if they're already there?

Are cloths the same as the ones included in eyeglasses boxes?

If you go to a marine store like West's they have choices to take the scratches out of plastic. Look for a polish for Isinglass and strata glass. Novus is a good brand. Camco 201 is a good product as well.

I've been using the California Dash Duster. Haven't noticed any scratches from that.

Yes it is for sure and Borola has posted this before,it and should be a staple for those who are self conscious about stuff like this, I got it last year and put it on and glad I did, when my truck went it in for servicing I had noticed a film of residue on my dash cluster and infotainment screens it's because they went the extra mile and wiped off the dust on these screens, if I hadn't applied the protection the potential scratches would just accumulate and my OCD would get the best of me.

I don’t know but the screen protector for the infotainment screen is outstanding as well, highly recommended to do both

did the big screen cover and the MID screen cover. the big screen was really easy, but the MID screen was a pita. really soak it in the provided bottle (pro-tech). the angle and small space make it really really pita to get the bubbles out. it took about 3-4 months for all the bubbles to disappear on ours during the summer heat.

there is already a thread on the screen protector in the 3rd gen forum go search for it.

[IMG] Detailing brush does the trick, gets in all the cracks and doesn't scratch anything. I keep in in the center console and pull it out whenever needed.

And if your truck breaks down, you can pull it out and ride it home like a witch

Only thing with the brush is, it's not removing the dust from the truck, just moving it to somewhere else.

This is one of many of my complaints with the design of this truck. The gauge cluster screen (clear lens) is angled in the most stupid way possible. Leaning back as far as it does it is basically a shelf that will just collect dust. Why on earth they did this makes no sense at all. There is plenty of room to have had that screen lens vertical if not more forward at the top and closer at the bottom which would eliminate this whole issue. Would also eliminate any glare too. However, it is what it is I guess. Its just dumb.
