I apologize, I thought it was still required to have 91 octane otherwise the engine detunes itself.

Like that whole frame rust issue that didn't exist... until it was forced on them?

I guess a TT V6 is fine if you don't care what your truck sounds like. Nothing matches a v8 in the sound department, im not interested in showing up in a big truck that sounds like a sewing machine.

V6 in a full size truck is like a bodybuilder with Ryan Renolds voice....it'll make me laugh every time.

Boys, this thing will not be ratified until we start seeing the retail value on the turbo V6 offerings over the next few years.
That will be the acid test. The simple fact that Toyota dealers are offering 5k more than what a person paid for a 2021, to sell it back to them kinda gives a good idea of what's going to happen.
For the price difference, a Tundra TRD with aftermarket blower would humiliate the new 2022 V6.
Only grandmas drive trucks like they have the last gallon of gas on earth.
If you're doing truck stuff, gas mileage is not in your thought process at that moment.
This should get the aftermarket guys working overtime to certify their supercharger offerings.

I suspect Toyota deployed a bunch of social media bloggers to sell this lemon. I notice the most loyal 2022 supporters have just joined.

I did not know I had to be loyal to be interested and like a truck. I am interested in it depending on pricing. Really like the orange and I am not 100% against V6. I think the new bed will be sweet. Stop thinking binary, people are generally not binary. Are you a binary person or do you feel you are more complex than that?

Somehow, I just don't see it being as good overall. I considered some turbocharged automobiles before buying my tundra. I cannot stand the lag and delay associated with the turbocharger. Hence, I bought one of the last of an era.

I understand economy and stuff but you just can't beat the brute power generated in that 5.7....

Personally I do not think you understand the word binary nor how people work. This response just confirms it. You seem surprised that a lot of people joined a Tundra forum after new details of it have been released, commercials and ads are coming out and a lot of pre-reviews are coming out. I am not sure why you are amazed at this but to me it seems normal. You have to label people "2022 Supporters" for some reason when it seems logical that for the most part people that are interested in the truck from all of the new media and discussion about it would go looking for information on it than people who are not interested in it. I am surprised that you are surprised by what seems logical but now that I know I will understand that these things baffle you.

Please tell us more. Persuade us all with your vast understanding of human psychology and life experience. I am fascinated.

Can we see a picture of your truck?

***You are on a thread " SAVE THE TUNDRA V8" with some binary psychobabble when someone disagrees with you. This is not normal behavior.

LOL, I have to admit that your anger over something so trivial is amusing but the back stories you create in an attempt to understand the world and people is downright hilarious.

I just do not understand the type of mindset that cannot understand that people are more complex than just being one issue or item. When I look at or for something, like a truck of instance, I may have some things I am very interested in and that I would prefer. The problem with that is that there are probably a lot of people out there that probably want different things than I want and manufacturers that make decisions not based solely on what I want. Since they are not my mommy I understand that. So I look at all available options and decide what I feel is best for me. People that want something different are not wrong or inferior to me, they just want different things because they have different wants, desires and needs as well as other reasons. Personally I want the V8 in the Third Gen Tundra but that is not an option. So if I feel that is a deal breaker I have to go to a company that makes a V8. None of this seems like rocket person science to me.

My daughter was out of school on Monday and Tuesday this week. This morning when she heard the mighty V8 roar to life she excitedly said “yay daddy, we’re taking the big truck to school?!” Current owners can and will appreciate this, but I’m also sharing this with folks who’ve joined recently, who’ve never owned a 5.7 and never will. Don’t get me wrong—your opinions matter, they just matter a little less than peoples’ who’ve actually experienced the current Tundra engine. Hearing the Tundra roar to life is right up there with smelling fresh coffee brew, tearing the cellophane off a new electronic, the first cold beer out of a six pack. It’s the simple things in life. Cheers!

Nailed it. There’s nothing like the roar and feel of a V8 engine. When I was a kid, my grandma had a 76 Dodge Dart with a 318. She didn’t drive it often so my dad would take it out every so often just to keep things going. I remember the first time he let me ride with him and he looked over at me and floored it. I was hooked ever since.

The smell of coffee perkin, bacon cookin, first swig of a cold beer, first bite of a double bacon cheeseburger with jalapeños and guacamole, the first puff on a Padron cigar with two fingers of top shelf Bourbon?, the nice smoky hit from checking on baby back ribs in the smoker for 5 hrs.?

What a let down. This was supposedly a "World Beater", I don't see it. To have a chance they needed to start with a 5.7 TTV8 hybrid...
