I'm with you. Now that I'm going back to work more often, I just fill up at Costco. If I'm travelling, I'll just pull up to any gas station that is most convenient for me. If they have get upside discount, great! If not, I'm not going out of my way to fill up there to get the discount.

I was turning left into the gas station and a lady going straight waved me thru. I didn't know there was a right turn lane on the other side of her. Never saw the that hit me until after. No injuries and no tickets.

I remember you telling this story now. :(

Probably not the app's fault, though.

No, the other guy's insurance said it was my fault. But I can blame the app because it's the only reasonably close station to me and it's at a horrible intersection. The guy that hit me said his wife totaled her car there a month before and one of the cops said he had a near miss there also. So I blame the app because it makes me feel better. I got my truck back today, finally. They did a good job. Two minor issues. They lost the anti rattle u bolt for my cooler holder and the soft open for the tailgate doesn't work. The owner gave me a 20 to replace the u bolt. I told them I'd pull the tail light this weekend. If it's something simple, like a connection I'll fix it. If it's more I'll bring it back. He was good with that.

This is exactly why I don't take anyone's wave when driving. I had the exact same wreck a few months after turning 16. Never trusted a wave through from another driver again

Yep still using it. Found a code that worked yesterday. Shoppers35 apparently the stations aren't giving much right now though. Most are only giving a penny the last couple days without the promos.

Are there shortages at other stations, or is it unique to those you named?
Any reason given as to why?

It was due to people panic buying when the price went up this morning.

Really? How can one panic buy gasoline?
Either your vehicle can hold more gas, or it can't. If it's near empty, it should be filled up. If it's not near empty, you won't consume much by filling.
Granted you may have a 5-gallon container or two as well. But most people don't.
Few have huge storage tanks that can hold gasoline.

    Am I missing something?

Some people have been topping off their tanks every day to try to get the cheapest gas possible.

I have been watching quite a few people filling up brand new 5 gallon cans. Some have as many as 7-8

I’ve been working at a gas station for a few months

Yep...top offs and containers. Floridians have alot of gas containers due to hurricane season. The average waiting time to get gas at Sam's near me is over an hour.

Not sure if it's in Canada only but AAA members apparently get 3 cents a litre (~11 cents a gallon) off at Shell.

Ouch, they are going to have to start replacing the hand sanitizer they had everywhere during covid with bottles of lube.

I just downloaded the app. Is the gas rewards better than the price of gas at SAMS and COSTCO including the 3% cash back? Usually, SAMS and COSTCO are lower per gallon anyway. Curious about anyone's experience?

Sam's and Costco are catching up to everyone else in price. I just filled up an hour ago with 50 cents per gallon off. That puts me at 3.89 per gallon and Sam's is currently $4.22.

I wish our pumps would do that...they turn off at $100 here in Phx. Then I have to start another transaction to continue filling up.

Really depends. I don't have a costco membership and Costco is a 10 mile drive out of my way for me. I think you can usually get better prices at costco or similar, but for me, the app allows me to use gas stations that are convenient for me. Other people don't have any stations close to them that use the app so it doesn't work for them.

Didn't use the app this morning (I haven't for a while now). Even though I feel I got skrewed by paying $164.25 to fill up my tank I did feel a small win in there. QT had the Premium 91 cheaper than the 89 Octane which was obviously someone's error.
