Its all better. We also fixed both our tailgates. Gonna do more alignment tomorrow, but it drives nice enough at neighborhood speeds to get it to an aligment.

I might stay here all summer. It’s milder than san antonio. And beer is easy and gas is cheap.

theres a hundred empty homes i can camp at.
Might even be able to get a nearby part time.

    Nailed it.

My drivers cv axle was broke from before. We have plans for the pieces.

I'm not a fan of these at all. The drivers side was leaking the second we filled the diff. I'm thinking of going CVJ.

Jumper is taking off this morning, Bob is taking off later today, and five is probably my new neighbor.

    It's done. Pics incoming.

I'm definitely Bill. @MrDirtjumper is our leader so he's Hank.

OK. We busted as yesterday and all nearly died in the process. For some reason we thought it'd be a good idea to stay up till 430 drinking beer. It wasn't. We didn't even get started till 1230. We were hurting to say the least. Anyways, here's some pics.

I forgot, heres some magling josh started off his first 10 minutes with:

    20220403_191050.jpg

And our quick and dirty fix:

    20220403_200659.jpg

    Spacers on:

    20220403_191108.jpg

    20220403_191121.jpg

New rack installed(fuck that rack, never again).

    20220403_191159.jpg

    The new CVs:

    20220403_191140.jpg

    The final bed pic:

Putting the rears on while josh buttons up the front(again):

Oh, and a pic of the rears:

We still have some little stuff to do today, then I'm getting an alignment, and we're heading into the canyon for an off-road adventure. Still waiting on my skid plate to come in too.

@bmf4069 i notice your diff breather looks like an open bung. Don't leave your bunghole exposed! Throw some tubing on that and stick the other end behind a tail light or in the gas door.

Ironman is looking awesome! Looks like you guys had a great time too.

Steering rack was a surprise ass kicking for us as well. Watched some videos and such, and thought with everything else off it would be a breeze. It was a veritable hell, the shaft is what gave us trouble as well. I also hit the nut welded to the frame with an impact, like a DA. Then once we drilled it out, we figured out it was welded and the bolt was to be taken off from the top.

I only got to kinda put around the neighborhood to check everything, but it felt worlds better. Given how worn out everything was and the upgrades we did it's like new plus a bit. I'll report back when I get it all ironed out and aligned.

I'm not sure how I missed this, but the pics of the parts all over and truck blown apart hit me right in the feels. Reminds me of working on stuff back before I got a garage.
It's a real shame I'm 1000miles away. Would've been a great weekend of wrenching and shenanigans.

Guess who split a power steering hose! That bastard is spraying directly on my exhaust. I can't even go get my alignment now till I get those replaced. This truck will not stop fighting us.

So far mr dirtjumper is a shoe-in for goat fucker of the year.

all the success was due directly from his ‘push’ and leadership.

Can’t say enough about how awesome of a set of guys y’all were. @bmf4069 is a brave dude hosting 3 raunchy, stinky alcoholics.

4 guy from across texas met, fixed a truck and nobody got buttfucked. Thats a solid win for all involved.

and aside from the dust storm the first day, the weather has been beautiful, and the food was delicious. All the first gen guys oughtta think about coming up to merus for toyota takeover.
