Yeah, I just looked it up. Holcomb is a good trail, you’ll like it.

Yes ran it last year. I will have a new driver with a new truck and little kids so need to take it easy. Not sure how the kids will like wheeling.

That’s a great first trail to introduce them: not rough or bumpy, easy big banked corners. I love that route!

Good morning ladies and gents!!! SanG is almost here, three more days!!! I'm excited!!! :jellydance:

First of all, how to get there:

Take I-10 East to Redlands. Take the University Street exit, EXIT 80. Turn left (northbound) on University Street. Turn right onto E. Lugonia Avenue/SR-38. Continue on State Highway 38 for approximately 20 miles to the campground entrance.

Secondly, what you're probably most interested in is trail runs!!! :mudding:

Basically there will be three options: 1st, very easy and kid friendly, stock or 2wd; 2nd, more advanced, not tame, pinstripes involved and steep elevation climbs; 3rd, advanced but major armor needed - skids and sliders, with high clearance and trail experience is best.

So first option will be Holcolm Creek Road, also known as 3N16, going West to East. This will be good for first-timers and/or the beginner off-roader, kid friendly also.

The next option is White Mountain. If you went on our run in August with the legend himself @BestGen this will be the same run except we will be going to WM from Fawnskin using 3N14, Rim of the World that turns into Coxey Road. We will go up WM, where there will be steep hills and unfortunately based on last month's run, pinstripes are likely! There will be a spot up top of one of the first hills that we can stop and enjoy the views, maybe a bite to eat. This run was done by some Tundras with stock suspension and spacer lifts. Mind you, a certain someone asked to have a diaper exchange after the first major hill so it may not be a trail for newbs, unless you like the challenge!

The next option is Gold Mountain. Again, skids and sliders with high clearance Tundras are recommended!!! Also, having previous off-roading is recommended. In the start of the trail there will be major rock formations you will have to get over but I am told after that is cake. Be mindful, that this run may get crowded, in which case you can join in the other runs...or if you've been to Big Bear before plan your own run, but just be sure you go with a group, in case you need help with a breakdown or get stuck and need to get pulled out.

You will be responsible for your own provisions. Bring lots of water! Demello is providing a taco dinner on Saturday!!!

If you prefer to do a day-run, by all means join us on Saturday as this is when most of the runs will be done!!! But go ahead and PM me your intentions on attending just so we get a count of trucks and people.

Bring a radio if you have one! I may have extras to lend out, but would need a Benjamin for collateral!

The plan is to be back at camp by 4:00 p.m., and after the runs there may be chances to top off on gas and ice up in town, in case you need to. Also there will be group photos and a free raffle that you must attend! Stickers and limited amounts of t-shirts will be handed out!!

    :burnrubber:

    :drunk:

    :mudding:

    :woot:

Oh, it will be in the 30's at nite so bring what you need to keep you warm and if anyone has firewood that would be awesome!!

I’ll be heading up Friday after after work with the whole family. With that being said I will most likely join the White Mountain or Holcomb Valley run. Unfortunately we will head back down the mountain Saturday after dinner.
