Almost 2000 miles on my 18 limited. No issues and I use the TSS stuff all the time. I don't know where else they would have mounted the radar. My only gripe is that I can't have my cake and eat it too. What I mean by that is that I want to do mods, but I don't want to worry about the sensors when I do the mods. Of course that's just not possible. Electronics are always subject to failure and with the additional complexity and sensors needed it will probably get worse.

You end up buying it? I’d like to have heard what the sales person said to you

Yeah I’ve heard concerns about lifting Tundras on the 18. My local dealer has several 18s with leveling kits with 20x9 fuel wheels on 305/55. It may be one of those issues where it doesn’t pop up right away. My guess is they installed the stuff and then drove it around he block and parked it before the sensor malfunctioned or the dealer is able to recalibrate the sensors. There’s a guy in fb that tried to swap the 18 grill for a pro grill and he is having issues with the safety sense.

Sounds like the related problems are on the Platinum models.

Hmm I would think the safety sense system is the same across the trims. I’ll have to ask if the yaw rate sensor part is the same or if they have different part.

Well I see I'm not alone with the pre-collison alarm. I put about 100 miles and it's been the shop twice. They are suggesting an airbag module. Which is on back order....
I guess I will be asking for a new truck.

Welcome to the club... the thing that worries me is that we could get another truck but have the same issue with the replacement one. Don’t know if it’s a bad batch of sensors or if the part needs resigned.

I had the brake controller issue which was replaced. I have noticed if there is frost on the area of the windshield where the camera is I get pre collision system not available. Once the windshield defrosts it goes away.

The dealer replaced the brake controller. I haven’t had the trailer brake error since.

I bought my 18 Tundra SR5 about two weeks ago and I have had the same problem. I am also in Washington, up on Whidbey Island. I called the dealer and headed there today to get it checked out. I will keep you updated on the issue.

I've got a an sr5 also. Mine has error messages also. There is a recall on the airbag sensors. There's others having same issue. Search other threads. Mine also flashes brake when nothing is in front. I'm at the dealer now and see what they can find out. I'm also having some water come in from the doors after a car wash. Kind of wished I keyed my old tundra

I have an SR5 as well, my problems were originally the same as the photos in OP. I had the SRS airbag assy replaced and I'm now having the PCS issue20180112_160851.jpgGood luck to all of us in hopes they come with a fix really soon. I advised my dealership of the others here who have had the SRS ECU replaced but they tell me they can't swap mine until Toyota technical tells them too.

    PRECISELY!!

Toyota USA, hdqtrs, assigned me a case manager. The case manager has been working with both Technical group and my service advisor. I was told if i felt unsafe driving it they would give me a loaner. I was further informed if they felt it was a threat of something happening they would have me bring it in until further notice.

I was however given an option of working with Toyota and keeping my truck or going through the process of getting my trade equity balance and money put down, refunded. With the latter of the 2 options being to surrender my truck.

Welcome from Arizona. I have an 18; no issues yet but it seems like the number of people having this problem is increasing daily just on this forum alone. Hope the source of the problem is identified and corrected soon.

I guess I am one of the lucky ones, 3200 miles on my 2018 Tundra now and never had an issue. PCS light came on once because the front emblem had slush on it....wiped it down and all was good.

Not making excuses for Toyota but most new stuff has its quirks and sometimes it takes a little bit to work all the bugs out. If it happens to my truck I wouldn't be to overly concerned because I am sure the dealer will take care of it. In the end they want you, the customer to be happy. Backordered parts is beyond their control so I will be reasonable. Besides that I came from a long time F-150 experience and quirks (especially electronic gizmo problems) are nothing new to me. I have to say that so far my Toyota experience exceeded my expectations.

This blows. Sucks that you 18 guys have to deal with this. Hope they come up with a quick fix. Glad I didn't wait and got a 17.

I almost bought a 2017 early last year but then found out that Toyota finally would add all the safety features and LED headlights, I got my deposit back and waited about 7 month to get the 2018 I have now. I have absolutely no regrets, even knowing that there might be some growing pains like with any new stuff. To each their own.

For those of you having problems I am sure that Toyota and your dealer will make it right.

The sales person brought it to the back to have it checked. I had turned the truck off so when he took it the lights had went off and they assumed it was nothing. He came back with the truck and backed into a spot and it went off again. He took it to them with the errors on and they said they fixed it. I'm not sure what they did, he just said it wasn't a big deal. I was scared to buy the truck after that I didn't want the headache and I have since waited on the '18s.

Has anyone got any resolution on This issue yet???? We bought a 2018 Tundra SR5. Since day 1, pre-collision and towing brake error appear. Like others mentioned, we can get it to turn off by restarting the truck but the warning lights come back on after driving a little ways. First time in the dealer, they re-set the yaw sensor. 10 minutes after leaving, warning lights back on. Now currently in shop at the dealer. They wanted to replace the airbag sensor thinking that was causing the problem. Now the dealer is saying that is not fixing the error. Has anyone had this issue repaired that actually fixed the problem.

    Thanks

Now dealer called and said it's fixed. They replaced the airbag sensor and reset everything. They want is to not to use the USB port for one week. They said if this doesn't fix the problem, we will need to. Ring back for third time and they will replace the engine control module. They have only driven it around parking lot, not actually taken it on the road. I told them not picking it up until they drive it for a few miles....thinking the lights will come back on.
