I’m confused. Just went to another friend of a friend’s body/paint shop and they said they can sand and buff it out...lol

It really depends on what they are comfortable with. Some people know how to push it. Do the scratches catch your fingernail? If they do, they will be difficult. I wouldn't have them take that all the way off. You'd have REALLY thin clear coat at that point.

Yep sucks but it’s bound to happen. I have a friend that got a new land cruiser he did the same thing the first month he had it. The pain will go away.

If the scratches are deep, then you need to-
    • clean the surrounding area
    • use a scratch repair kit
    • apply rubbing compound
    • cover it with touch-up paint
But when the scratches are light, you just need to use a scratch remover. Recently I used Carfidant Scratch and Swirl Remover. It worked good for me. You can try it without any hesitation.

Don’t try to get too crazy trying to remove deep scratches. It’s just not worth it. There is a good chance that you will do more harm than good. When I do a good clean and polish, most of the scratches on my truck are hidden pretty well. Probably a good way to start. Adams Polishes Quick Detailer is awesome stuff. I’d recommend trying that
