I couldn't tell you who makes TRD filters, probably is K&N since they make it for lots of others.
The test you posted are interesting and from a quick glance it shows air flow after being hit by coarse dirt. Seems the SB flow more than the other when hit with dirt. My thinking is that dirt is passing straight through and that's why it stays flowing better longer than others. If the surface area is the same then the filter that is stoping the most dirt will get clogged faster, making it flow less air, than the filter that catches less dirt, which will flow more. K&N is obviously garbage but in their site they state 96-99% filtering efficiency. That to me is a joke. You can drive a tundra through the holes in a K&N filter.
I would like to see a test measuring dust in and dust out over x amount of time.

One thing I also noticed. It took the SB 230grams of dust to reach 20"H2O vs 655 grams for the OEM. And the SB reach 20" in 14 min vs 40 min for OEM. Now remember, that's the holding capacity of the filter. So OEM hold more dirt over a longer span of time. What that tells me is that the SB has less dirt holding capacity and will also clog quicker, leading to performance loss and filtering efficiency.
Or am I looking at it wrong?

Old thread but just bumping to say whoever at S&B designed the mounting bracket for the driver side…. Your mom’s a hoe!

don’t see how anyone without some tiny child hands is supposed to mount that damn thing upside down and in such a cramped space.
Finally installed mine last night, so far so good
