I have a 2017 Tundra in the blue color. I have rock dings where the paint and primer have been removed. I have developed rust/corrosion in those spots. Has any one have the same issue? I live in the Seattle area. I am disappointed in that the rust occurred so fast from the dings. I have touched up with Toyota touch up paint. Any feed back would be appreciated.

I go off road quite a lot so I have numerous scratches and areas of chipped paint. Did you sand the rusted spots down a little before applying paint? Pictures?

my Tacoma has a very thin paint and i hear tundras are like that also!
being a 2017, any rust is a minor surface rust and will cleanup quickly with a little rust-oleum or wd-40 or even a little oil, try to stay on the ding and then apply the touch up paint.

It's just surface rust if your truck is that new; also most likely showing quicker due to the moist environment you live in.

On a somewhat related note, how is the offroading/overlanding in Washington? There's a good chance I might be moving there by September or latest by the end of the year.
