I was going to put on running boards but for a few dollars more got sliders from Slee.

    Curse you Perry the Platypus!
I prefer the look with them and have always gotten the Westin E-Series black nerf bars. Autoanything might be able to get you a discount if you contact him through this site.

I went with SDHQ's slider and have been extremely happy with them. Very sturdy and only negligibly effects ground clearance. Doesn't offer much in the way of step-height relief though.

To me, trucks look naked without them and they sure come in handy whenever you have family that's older. Besides, steps also decrease wear and tear on the bolsters.

I went with the Rough Country DS2 drop steps. They don’t hang down as far as the stock ones I had. They are well made, installed them myself and were only $300. May be an option for ya.

I had running boards on my 2010 4Runner and 2016 Tacoma, I never used them on either. However, I use them all the time with my Tundra. My friend just got a new Tundra as well, and he doesn't have running boards, and it's a bit more of step up than you realize. I definitely prefer them.

Not a fan of running boards either. Amp Research steps are the only way to go. But as said before, they be pricey, but worth every penny. Get them

GoRhino RB20. Slider look but much cheaper. Good door ding protection, good step, saves your ground clearance and a clean look.

I'm with ya'. Don't really like the look of running boards, but short wife requires them. I don't think these look too bad...

If those would've been available when I bought my 2010,I'd have 'em on it today. Wife is 4'10" (not short; fun-sized:D) At the time, ICI was my only option for Wheel to Wheel bars. I've never had a use for Cab-Length bars or boards.

The best part about factory boards are they protect a lot of your truck from rocks.

I took my stocks off within days of owning my truck. After lifting and bigger tires, I now admit steps to get in would help, and I’m 6’2”. But more so I cringe every time my short wife and 6 year old hop in and step all over the painted portion of the door sill lol. I never could settle on fixed steps I actually liked, so I bit the billet and ordered some Amps haha.

Don’t like that either. Ultimately it boiled down to everybody basically sliding up or down the seats to get in, including myself

Lol. I put aside a little every paycheck the past few months while I searched. Wanted a super flush step. From true sliders to drop steps, I went through them all and just never could ultimately commit to any fixed mount steps aside from like a $1,500 pair of sliders. I live in south Louisiana, no such thing as hard ground or rocks around here so it wasn’t justifiable. No matter what I kept going back to the Amps. Decided it’s time buy now, cry later lol
