I must be doing something wrong. When I put the hook in the track (cab end) and run up the platic knob the knob is binding out on the bottom of the track before the hook is secure.

    Any suggestions?

Just installed. Quality looks good. I'll have to use it a while before I can say whether I like it or not.

I bought a used one yesterday. Going to hit it with some black paint tomorrow to freshen it up and then it goes on. Paid $225 for it so it will work for now.

I bought the Rugged Cover II after doing a ton of research and fully committed after seeing on one of these forums that Toyota rebadges these and sells for double the price. I cannot confirm that is true.

It’s a good cover for the price (about $800 on Amazon) and showed up on my front door in NC super quick with Prime Shipping. The packaging was great and not a scratch, even though half the box was torn away.

Install is done in a matter of minutes and I didn’t have to move the cargo rails! It wasn’t included in the description, but the cover came with 4 mounts that slide right into the cargo rails, allowing you to easily latch the cover to.

I’ve used it for a month and have been very happy with it. It leaked like a sieve at first and I had to get creative with silicon caulk around the front of the truck bed. That helped a lot but there is still a little bit of a trickle that comes in around the ridges in the plastic bed rail covers and around my Bull Ring tie downs. I’m ok with that.

Last Saturday I spent three hours going 75 down I-40 in the driving rain and only had a little bit of water get through. The water never strayed past the first ridge in from either side of the tire well. I had no issues with my table saw, air compressor, any of my other tools or even the families overnight bags getting wet. It’s a godsend to be able to pack the truck the night before, lock the tailgate, go to bed, work all day, then make multiple stops along the way for the kids and never worry about your kit locked safe and dry in the truck bed.

I’m sure this isn’t the best truck bed cover out there, but completely worth the $800 in my opinion.

Mine is perfectly aligned and does not have those rough edges. If you just got it, I would contact customer service, I heard they were pretty good.

My Rugged Cover 2 has never leaked a drop and all panels are perfectly aligned. I absolutely love mine and would not think of purchasing any other hard tri fold tonneau cover.

I picked up a used one and installed it over the weekend. Even used it hasnt leaked in the last two days of rain. I did read you have to make sure the front flap is over the front of the bed and not tucked under the cover.

Did you make sure to put the flap over the front rail of your bed?

Does that work? I noticed the flap and played with it, but it didn’t look like it would have a long life like that. I’ll give it another try this afternoon.

    Thanks!

Absolutely! The install instructions also call it out. I ran my truck through a car wash and it came out completely dry in the bed.

I like this cover, but don't like that the front part doesn't allow full bed access for cab height items. How easy is it to remove the cover say in a parking lot?

Really easy. Could be done in 15 minutes without any tools.

Thanks. I'm debating between something like this or a softopper.

I hear ya. I've seen too many soft tops flapping around going down the road. I get functionally it can be a better fit for some though.
