As with other Toyotas, the front cab/body mount on '07+ Tundra's is fairly obtrusive into the front fender wells and larger tires and negative offset wheels will make your truck rub when turning. Well we now have a solution to eliminate that embarrassing rub! Cut into that CMC and weld on our new CMC boxing plates. They free up over an inch of fender well tire room- Tested on an '11 Tundra with severe rub issues while running 35's on a Procomp 4" lift, our plates gave plenty of room!

Plates can be ordered right off our website. Check them out: http://www.relentlessfabrication.com/collections/toyota/products/07-tundra-cab-mount-chop-plates

I will be getting some of those since another vender I questioned about them hasn't confirmed he has the drawing still to cut more.

Ah didnt even know there were others out there on the market. Do the others have the bend in them like ours? I was going to initially make them flat like our Tacoma/FJ/4runner plates but it just didnt make enough of a clearance difference, hence more cutting and the additional bend. Probably net us another 1/2" clearance easily

Well the other vender only has them for sale for a Tacoma. Said he did one for a tundra a while back but wasn't sure if he still had the drawing for the laser cutter. I assume his was flat

Gotcha, well we just did this chop for a customer and designed the plates. They fit great and offer maximum clearance. If you're interested, feel free to toss in an order on our site and we'll send out a pair for ya!
Thanks! I think for what it is, we're giving them at a very fair price. Between cutting/cleaning/bending/shipping, we arent making much! ;)

Ordered. Thank you for the 10% and free shipping :)
Was going to add some gussets for the heck of it but the shipping cost brought it out of my price range for not having a project for them at the moment.

It's $24.99 for the pair, both sides. They're in stock currently. If it says they're out then the stock just needs to be updated, we made some more about a week ago.

If I'm not mistaken that price includes shipping. Mine are going in soon. Well worth it. Looking forward to see your 2nd/3rd gen Tundra skids, Relentless.

We havent done one, but may try to in the future. It's a pretty straight forward process.
    1. Jack up the front of the truck and remove tires, rest on jack stands
    2. pop hood and remove the battery ground.
    3. Clean off the body mount in the rear of the fender well, trim a bit of the plastic around it if it has not already been cut.
    4. Hold the plate up with the small tapered side toward the outside of the truck, and the bend in the bracket in toward the body mount. Trace the cut line with a paint marker, silver sharpie, etc.
    5. cut to the inside of the line until the chunk of body mount to be replaced falls loose.
    6. Realign the chop plate to the body mount and grind it down until the plate fits all around.
    7. When fitted snug and cut back to the desired amount, clean the paint off near the edges of the cut, and clean a location on the frame for the welder ground clamp.
    8. Tack weld and then begin stitch welding the chop plate into place. DO NOT weld all in one shot, it will overheat the body mount bushing and melt! Use a blow gun with compressed air to cool between stitch welds.
    9. Once allowed to cool in between welding and then stitched completely paint the mount inside and out and repeat the process on the other side.
    10. Paint all bare metal thoroughly, then reinstall tires and torque lug nuts to factory spec. Enjoy less rubbing!

Kinda blurry, but you get the idea
    20140507_134039_zpsyljokw8l_8418f9354d2964acba928675b17d19f1ff66ceff.jpg

And this is with the piece I cut off held over the cut body mount to show how much clearance gain is actually possible

And this is how I mark them to cut.
