The noise was driving me crazy so I decided to fix it today. I made a how-to video on it. It's my first video so be gentle. :)

Is this because the rear seats front part of the floor brack has been raised resulting in a tilt of the seat?

Nice fix! Are you satisfied with the ESP box or would you have gone a different route for storage?

Yes, I'm satisfied with it. It's a bit pricey but the workmanship is great. I think the problem I had might be specific to my truck because I have not found anyone else having this issue.
