I am not a Rep and also not sure how you guys feel about these coolers but I wanted to let everyone know about the sale. Not sure how long it is going on for either.

https://www.rticcoolers.com/ ... sale shown on page.

I am curious if anyone has one ...... and do you like over a Pelican or Yeti?

New to the page but I will be doing an introduction post later today.

I have both a yeti and a rtic....my honest opinion is the yeti is built just a bit better. I'm sure others will chime in and say you can't tell the difference and that may be true, and honestly with different weather conditions I don't know how you'll ever be able to tell. I've never ran the two coolers at the same time with the same stuff in them to see. I've taken my yeti on a 5 day camping trip, I fill 2 liter bottles with water and freeze them. They lasted the whole 5 days. Obviously the less you open the lid the longer the ice holds up. With what RTIC offers for the price compared to yeti, you'd be goofy not to buy the RTIC. IMO. But you also won't be able to tell people you have a yeti lol.

hahaha there are die hard fans for every brand so I am open to opinions from both sides ..... I am thinking I will get the RTIC since it is on sale now and if need be get a Canyon or Yeti later on. Even better yet an ARB frig for the longer trips!

I have the Cabelas (traded on offerup for one) version of the YETI/RTIC... Ive taken it on beach trips, golf trips, weekends.. it hold ice very well and absolutely no complaints. I don't know anyone with the RTIC, but my buddies that have the YETI swear by them.

In college my buddies big ass like 140qt YETI held ice for over a week while being kept in the back yard in south Texas. (hot as hell, humid as hell)

It sounds crazy, but look up YETI or RTIC on offerup and youll find some great deals. You might save more than the 25% and a lot that are sold still have the tags on em.

Agree with this....I've seen some brand new Yeti's people have won and don't want on Craigslist for almost half price.

    I have a Rtic 40 soft pack.
Took it to mojave for 3 days in average 115 temps(stayed in the truck whole time) Ice was holding up all the way til the day after I got home. After that it was just cold water.

There is a trick to retaining ice that longer.. I usually pre-chill the cooler(throw a ice pack or 2 depending size of cooler), pre-chill mostly everything I plan to throw in there, organize space well so that the ice fills every crevice, and fill ice to the top. This works best for me-pretty much any cooler I use.

I was lucky to catch a deal with @Almaboy from the help of @joonbug to get an Orion 65qt hard cooler.. I used the same method, left it in my back yard around July 4th lasted about a solid 7 days. This is with me grabbing a beer each day checking the levels. This is also when I noticed that if I hadn't drained the cold water, I'm sure it would've lasted another solid day or two.

I got my $250 cabelas cooler as well as a $150 carrier that was still in the box. I traded for an old amp I wasn't using that only cost me $150. So definitely came out on top

I have a Yeti and love it. It's a lot for a cooler, but I figured I'd never have to buy one again. Plus I use it as a seat on my paddle board, so it get's double use. That being said, it was an anniversary gift from my wife and RTIC wasn't a thing yet, or I'd likely have gone that way. From what I've read and watched on some videos comparing all the high end coolers, the Cabelas cooler was the top bang for your buck.

Btw op. Hard cooler retains ice a lot better than the soft. I never recorded my experiment with both, but a soft cooler out in the sun vs hard cooler died faster.
Rtic softpack lasted longer than my brand new Coleman extreme though.

I regret not getting a small one too during the group buy. I use a cheap plastic Walmart special for my day trips. Ice literally lasts 2-3 hours. Lukewarm water in 4 hours.

Yep! I thought I wasted my money on the soft pack, but it works great on day trips and a in cab cooler for the family. 30qt wouldve been good but all they had left was 40qt.

I’ve got one of the RTIC soft 20 coolers and I like it pretty well. I bought it more or less as a lunchbox for when I’m working. I like it better than a Yeti in price point and the way it opens opposed to a Yeti. Mine has held ice for 4-5 days in my truck in the summer.

I have had an RTIC 65 for a year now, it is much larger than the Yeti 65 (which really only holds 52 quarts). I used in back in April for an 8 day road trip around the southern USA. I added Ice to it twice because i would steal ice from it for the small cheap cooler we had in the cab and carried with up on the beach. I froze 4 or 5 32oz power-aid bottles, at the end of the 8 days there was still ice inside the bottles, maybe 25%. I just got a soft sided RTIC30 that i used for a 3 day camping trip and it still had plenty of ice when I got home.

I’ll chime in. I don’t have any of the coolers, but I have the tumbler cups in several brands. Seriously, I have a cabinet full of the damned things. A few I’ve bought, the rest came from giveaways at work, golf tournaments, etc.
I’ve put them all out on the back porch, full of ice, and left them there a day or so, mid-summer. They all perform equally. The only SLIGHT difference is that the coated ones did a little better than the regular ones.
Yeti is actually a line we sell at my job, but none of us buy it. Even at employee markup (cost plus 10%), they’re still not competitive in price compared to Rtic and the others.
I actually use the Wal-Mart Ozark Trail brand almost exclusively. Something like $9.00 compared to thirty plus for Yeti.
The only reference for the coolers I can give is a Pelican we use at work. It’s held up next to the Yeti’s every time we’ve used them.

Now....if anyone is just determined to buy Yeti, and you’re in Texas, I can get you a pretty good price on one.

Buc-ees (the greatest gas station chain in the world) here in Texas sells the Rtics. Every now and then they have 25% off sales on them. I love them. The price is right, good quality, and they stay cold.

Owner of an Orion 25, Yeti 45, and RTIC 45 here...the RTIC and Yeti are basically the same cooler but one is brown and one is white...i won the Yeti and paid for the RTIC in their original run of preorders before the lawsuit etc...the Orion came from the group buy here

If I don't need the space of the RTIC/Yeti...I'll choose the Orion every time...it's just a better cooler for the money...cold retention is probably about the same, but the cushioned top, bottle openers, and handles make it a better choice for most of my uses...makes for a better seat unless you pony up and bolt a cushion to the Yeti/RTIC

    Flux capacitor!
I was able to pic up my RTIC 20 at Buccees last year for $72 & tumblers for $7! They had a huge blow out of their inventory after Yeti sued for patent infringement. They have since change the design to avoid any issues. They make a great product. IMG_6887.jpg
