yeah it actually looks like a truck now! I got the TRD sport because I liked the color matched parts and the fact that it came with front and rear sway bars. But I absolutely HATE the stock wheels. The rim has no depth to it and the tires are too small looking for my taste.

I think 35’s look perfect for the body size of the tundra

Yea man, 35s are significantly larger than stock size tires, and even visually larger than the 315/70r17s I am running. with the right wheel, right alignment, mud flaps removed, and front plastic panels heated and pushed up an inch, you should be fine. I have the icon rebound 17inch wheel with 25mm offset, perfect for fitting 35s for our tundra, outwards enough to clear UCA, and not too much pushed outwards so it won't rub the body mount.

Thank you, that’s very reassuring. Thankfully the zero offset gives me better clearance with the UCA’s. This is a video I watched that also gave me some piece of mind.

Check OMF, they make domed washers in several styles. Here's one example but call them for more: https://www.kartek.com/parts/omf-pe...g-domed-washers-pack-of-12-for-one-wheel.html

I got mine today. Waiting to Mount them up until after I get back from vacation next week. I want to come up with some solution to make sure I don’t scratch the face of the wheels up with them. I don’t want to be committed to running the rings at all times.

I would think an adhesive (one side) butyl tape would be good for that

You can get nylon washers in black that would work wells we use them on motorcycle bodywork to prevent scratches

Speaking of protection rings. I noticed I purchased the black bolts rather than gold. I guess I didn't noticed when I purchased them. I will plan on putting them on after my lift. I saw on their Instagram the black bolts ring with bronze doesn't look too shabby.

That does look nice. In the brief time I handled my rings I noticed the paint on the rings is pretty thin and easily scratched and discolored. Luckily they are easy to repaint whatever color you want but I was a little unimpressed with the finish. Powder coating or bedliner could be a better more durable option.

Agreed! I think it will look nice! Originally wanted gold bolts but I guess I didn't noticed there was a selection for black or gold bolts.

Just got confirmation my protection rings have shipped.
My coach builder order should be here today and I finally broke the news to my lady about the rims, tires, and suspension. Needless to say she’s pissed :smack:

I still haven’t mounted up my rings in fear of destroying the finish of the wheels. I ordered 300 8mm black nylon washers at the recommendation of @Toe404. Thanks for the idea! I’m going to put a washer between the rings and the wheels, and between the bolt head and the rings on each bolt. So 2 washers per bolt. It’s going to be tedious but at least I won’t ruin the finish on anything.

A very small amount of grease on nylon washer will make it tacky enough to stay in place during mounting. Will for sure be easier to do each wheel face up on the ground opposed to mounted on the truck
