Originally at 15 degrees. When I opened the rear door I have about 1/2" of clearance. Thought nothing of it until i dropped all the weight of the truck on the outer edge of that kick-out, and bent it up about 1/2". Add all the mud and I had a rear door that I could not open.

So, took them off and redid them. I would say I am at about 10 degrees this time. Have slightly more room from bottom of rear door to top of kick-outs. But, I like the look of them tucked closer to the body.

I have NOT started one and kind find one.

May want to run it by a Mod first to make sure it's allowed.

Here they are now. Bad angle, but pretty much look the same as before.

Yeah, I agree I like the more aggressive angles but I also didn't think about how it would affect the doors. I think after this thread, I'm gonna go with RCI. It was the best bang for my buck and they are one of the only ones who make it in double cab.

I started one before your mod recommendation. If it’s not allowed, or there are more rules, I’m happy to abide by them.

Mine went on without incident, no need to cut holes or anything, all hardware used. 100% bolt-on. Mine was literally the first set of completed production sliders so I can only imagine the product has stayed the same or improved from there. Took me and a floor jack about 90 minutes to install both sides. I didn't ask for or use instructions. Pretty straightforward.

I also had great communication with RRW. My sliders took a LONG time because they were the first set. RRW put them up for sale and then had an issue with some parts. Took a couple of months to get when they were supposed to ship in a couple of days. They communicated via email with me the entire time, politely and professionally.

I can't speak for the "weld it yourself" version.

My only complaint is that my powder coat wasn't great. I barely drive my garaged truck and all of the tight spots and welds are rusting. Literally have washed the truck a few times since installing, haven't really driven it much at all, and it hasn't snowed or been wet here. Kind of disappointing. I'm getting bedliner this spring anyway, so I'll just have them coated then.

I really like their 17" hybrid rims for the Tundra but man so risky ordering from them when you can get Icon, Method or SCS

I asked for instructions and or a video.
"At the moment we don't have that content made, but we're working on creating installation videos soon. The slider install is quite simple though, they're bolt on so once you've got them aligned on your frame, you'll see all the open holes that can accept our hardware on the frame. Make sure you move any wiring harnesses that may be in the way first. Apologies for the inconvenience, just let me know if you've got any issues and I can help you out.

    Regards,
    Michael"

There is always that itch that is in the back of my head wondering if I did something wrong. And thats why I am having issues.
I sent the same pictures to Michael that I posted here. Hope to hear back tomorrow.

Any more updates from them? I emailed asking if the sliders are intended to bolt to the bottom of the frame or not. No response yet

Well, this is discouraging considering I ordered some V3’s from R4T on 12/12/20 after being severely disappointed by and taking a loss on Rocky Road’s stupidly designed shit.

I was very happy with my experience with RRW when I ordered wheels for my wife’s 4Runner, but Jesus.

I’ll be mounting up my DIY weld kit tomorrow and will post back about the frame plate fitment. I won’t have them fully welded tomorrow but will try to remember to take some pics along the way.

I haven't heard any issues with wheels. I've only heard these things about their sliders.

Also, it would cost another almost $700 for me to put rock rings on any other wheel. It sucks, yes, but I SUCK in rocks and end up annihilating wheel lips. The only other company making hybrids is Dirty Life and they don't make hybrids in 5x150. Would I rather buy another brand? Yes.

    Nice.

Be sure to post back with how terrible and difficult they are to install.

Well fuck me. I just held the frame plate to the frame and zero holes on the bottom line up, there’s a rivet on the frame on both sides that keeps the plate from mating flat and I’ll have to buy hardware to refit the fuel line brackets back up. Just tried to call them and no number on their site. Does anybody have it? ***AVOID THESE SLIDERS!!!***

    This is comical.

How would you secure a bolt that bolted upward, into, but not through your frame? Further, how would water escape? That's what the holes in the frame are for, after all.

What's scary and kind of shaddy is, if you google that phone number, it's used on numerous forums and sites for someone selling rims and not even posting the real pics of the rims until they are called out on it.

One of the listings was for rims for sale by "nipplygoodness" :anonymous:

Somethings doesn't add up with these guys.

Guys, RRW has been selling wheels and "armor" to the 4runner guys for a LOOONG time and there are no complaints like this. They're a small company using their Chinese manufacturing connections to produce reasonable quality parts for mostly Toyota vehicles.

They're not scammers. They're not "shady."

They are pretty upfront about what you get.

What? The owner of a small store is on multiple forums giving out his phone number to try to sell wheels to different car enthusiasts! HOW SHADY!

Get on their Facebook page and send them a message. A "shady" company who is ripping people off wouldn't have anywhere near the positive feedback this company gets considering their social media presence.

You can’t due to the angle of the bracket and how it meets up with the angle of the tranny crossmember.
