An update on my experience: No more antifreeze contamination. My transmission was shifting perfectly after a 9 gallon flush. Slowly my shifting quality got worse and worse. It started slamming into 2nd again. Drove like that for a few weeks. Then one day it started slipping shifting to 2nd. It will go to shift, rpms go up and I feel my body lunge forward from the truck slowing down. The next day, it will not shift into 2nd. Not unless I get up to 20 mph, then let my foot off the gas until the rpms drop to 1000. Then lightly apply the gas pedal and I'll be in 2nd. It also down shifts into 1st under light load.

I could drop the pan and the valve body, replace the shift and line pressure solenoids. But I still have clutches that are holding on for dear life. And that's going to be at least $300.

I may have found a used trans in good shape for $650.
