Rough Country. Buyer beware.

I have to strongly urge all not to purchase the rough country bumper led assembly or any of their products due to their inability to stand up to the terms of their warranty.

 

File a claim with BBB.

 

I have to admit....doesn't look too good for RC on this.

 

Their customer service seems to have some issues between the chat transcript and what's on their site. Based on the price of the lights and bumper as a kit, it would indicate that they aren't top of the line quality lights. Most people seal them with silicone and consider them "throw aways" when they fail.

 

My suggestion is to call their customer service number. Your text messages are answered by a bot and is scripted to only state certain phrases, most companies have gone to this unfortunately. I have a RC lift, bumpers, and LED light bars...NEVER have had an issue. The one and only issue was when I received the bumpers they were damaged from shipping. My installer called RC to let them know and within 5 minutes we had a new tracking number for the new bumpers being sent out. Received in 3 days and was given a credit (gift card) for the inconvenience. Speaking to a real person and being respectful goes a long way. Good Luck.

FYI, most, not all LED lights and light bars come from China weather people want to believe it or not. Rough Country shocks, as well as Skyjacker shocks are made by Monroe.

I have some minor issues with RC before but they were resolved, I did put the light bar above the license plate and a dbl row in the grille, and no issues with either bar

 

Once you get down into the back and forth, you can tell it's a bot that is just responding to key words. Still awful customer service

 

Yeah it took me a couple of days to get a solid answer on when my bumper will get here. I ordered the same one for my 2013 but I'm putting my Rigid lights in it.

 

They are persistent on telling me that the bumper wont fit my 13 because it is for 14 and up. Now I'm wondering if that "person" was a bot as well lol.

 

I was considering a rough country item but your post has me think twice. I have PTSD from dealing with bad companies (Subaru is the worst). I think I will pass. Thanks for sharing

 

Why not pick up the phone and give them a call? Either way this light bar is the same as the one you can buy direct from China off aliexpress.
