Flipped over in flood (Helene). Motor runs. Initially had quite a bit of exhaust smoke after getting upright. Has set for a while, now no smoke. Still have clicking, strongest at upper oil pan, (left corner as looking at motor from front). Possible oil pump or bearings.

You had exhaust smoke because you had oil in the cylinders. It doesn’t sound like you got the oil out of the cylinders before attempting to fire it up. Oil does not compress like air does mixed with fuel. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were at minimum bearing damage.

Ideally, you should have pulled the spark plugs and turned the crank by hand several times to make sure you got most of that out. You still would’ve had exhaust smoke until it all burned up but could have possibly saved the motor. Too late now.

A video/audio clip would be nice. I guess you could’ve starved the engine of some oil if it was running while on its side.

Can this be a damaged or cracked flywheel?

The Megathread does in fact include links to samples of the 'rattling marbles' sound typical of cracked flex plate, wouldn't surprise me to find the torsion of rolling would cause that:
    • Strange rattle noises at back of engine, like marbles rolling around: Several people here and at other forums have found this issue where they describe the sound as loose marbles banging around. Then found their flex plate was cracked in multiple places. Ticking timebomb. Check it out and another one with videos
