Great looking truck Rockgate. How tough was that wrap job? Did you do it yourself? I was about to pull the trigger on a used silver cap for my MGM (Tacoma) but paint quotes were pretty high and I've been looking toward a wrap option. Not cheap either.

Thank you. It wasn't hard at all in my opinion. But I've tinted windows on the side for 20+ yrs. So that may of helped. I took the side windows, rear window, and roof rack off to make it easier. I also did the sides separate from the top. Get you some knifeless tape if you want great seams. On the top, I didn't care so I just over lapped it 1/4"-1/2". Heat gun makes it very formable in 2-3 seconds. Make sure you use cast vinyl, as calendered vinyl does not form well. Also, cut a small piece (3"x6"), stick about a 1" part of it to something and play around with a heart gun so you can see how far it'll go, so you don't try to over do it. Make sure the surface is cleaned well with isopropyl alcohol, and sure it's smooth. A single grain of sand can stick out like a sore thumb. On mine, trying to reposition the vinyl, it started pulling paint off to the primer. Whoever painted it originally did not have good adhesion between painty and primer. Also if something sticks where you don't want it, don't be afraid of pulling it up. The vinyl stays pretty sticky.

The brand I used was Oracal 970ra, color 937 Gloss Charcoal Metallic.

Got it. Will cut this out and save it. I found a used Leer 100R that has all the fixins but its the wrong color and paint quotes are pretty high. Your results have me leaning vinyl. Thanks again!

Thank you. Been very busy. Hoping to get to do stuff to my truck soon. I have several things bought, just hard to stop and take the time to do them.

Finally got tired of my grab handle caps popping off. To my surprise , you can buy them separate. Here's the part number if anyone needs it. This is for the driver lower and passenger upper . I got lucky because the picture was crappy. Other picture you can see the tab that I broke off by prying up on the wrong side of it 1sr.
