At one point I was dead set on getting AMP Research plug and play steps. But thinking about it why go through all the hassle when I can get some great rock slider for the money. I do drive on some back roads with huge potholes that would swallow a Prius. What sliders are you guys running on your Pro, and who would you recommend? Looking for bolt on sliders.

There are several options - SDHQ, P&P Engineering, white knuckle, Pelfreybilt, BAMF will be designed some later this year (bookmarked on main page). There are others that I am forgetting.

I will be doing BAMF sliders.

Some life got in the way as to how quickly I'll be ordering, but it will be happening, and still up in the air is a set for our 4Runner

Yeah, if you go offroad, sliders are the way to go. All Pro is another one not listed above. If you want complete bolt on with no drilling... @sdhq_offroad

Thinking the SDHQ sliders, they look real functional and badass! Pelfreybilt look like rock crushers.

With the SDHQ sliders is it worth paying extra for textured powder coat or going raw?

You have to put something on them or they’ll rust. I got mine powdercoated at a local shop. If you get sdhq to pc them, they can get scratched during shipping.

I did see sdhq didn't recommend having them shipped with a powder coat. Didn't know they have to be coated or they will rust. Just get more expensive by the minute. Might be better off to have them powder coat them. Going be real pricey to have that done around here.

You shouldn’t have an issue having them shipped already powder coated. That’s how Demello shipped mine. There wasn’t a scratch on them.

Chances are low they’ll get scratched during shipping. But you can always just rattle can them yourself too if you want to save a few bucks. If you’re actually going to use them, they’re going to get all scraped up underneath and you will have to touch up with spray paint anyways. If I didn’t find a cheap place to pc them for $160, that’s the route I would’ve taken.

Frames are the same for Pros and non Pros so doesn't matter. I have All Pro sliders on mine. I went with them because they have the kick outs towards the rear.

    On my ex-Pro

SDHQ included a rattle can of paint for touch up with mine. They are also pretty well protected. I don’t blame them for saying it’s not recommended to ship them painted because of the potential for damage that they can not control.
Either way you will need to touch them up if you use them!

All Pro sliders are awesome but not a fan of drilling into my frame. I can see myself drilling the wrong hole.

It's only two holes lol. And I drilled after they were already bolted up so kinda hard to drill the wrong hole lol

I had SDHQ ship mine already coated. They came very well wrapped and were nearly perfect. I had 1 very tiny nick about 1/8" on one side. It wasn't worth the hassle and added expense to have them coated in the bay area (where everything is priced at a premium).

You can’t drill a wrong hole. It pretty much lines up itself after the main bolts are on.

Same here. Seem crazy light for how strong they are. Perfect fit and finish, and SDHQ was absolutely awesome to deal with. Being north of the 49th can be a pain. I can understand its maybe a bit more trouble dealing with us Canucks- one sponsor wouldn't return multiple emails- but SDHQ was patient and super helpful while we got shipping figured. I will be a repeat customer.

Depending on the area you live you might be able to pick them up and save on shipping. Think it might be around $100+ for shipping. I ended up looking at both white knuckle and demello and found out they were both only about 1hr away. To me it was worth it to drive and go get them. I saved on shipping, I get to drive my truck, and I get to make other stops and see friends along the way. To me its worth it to support local shops. Plus you can see some serious money. I am happy that a lot of companies are on SoCal, some will even offer discounts for picking up. Food for thought. I went with the Demello's because I liked the square design. I have an RTT the have made setting up mush easier. I was using a step ladder for set-up. Now I mainly use the rocksliders.

I have Demello Hybrid's on my Tundra, they are pretty nice. Had Pelfreybilt on my Tacoma, they were great too. I really liked the mounting hardware on those as well.
