Agreed. I’m trying to figure out what I’d like to do. I rarely tow or go off-road. I’d like to go off-road more. I don’t have rear sway bar. That would prob be the best upgrade since I’m on the road 99%. But from what you all say, the RAS makes the ride better also.

In my opinion, I'd give the RAS a try because it does address stability AND squat

Plus, if it doesn't work out, you can always sell it here... I can't imagine you'd have any trouble getting almost everything you paid for the set up back, as long as you're not in a rural area. Shipping would be unreasonable...

RAS is great, but that sway bar really changes the entire feel of the truck. I have both and they do their respective jobs well.

I’m currently selling my RAS for 1/2 price of new… if anyone is looking for one.

The RAS HD is designed to handle half your payload +/- 10% depending on how much you crank it up.

So you’ll get to roughly half your max payload before it starts to squat.

800lb tongue weight…from my experience you would prob be leveled with that instead of squatting. And you’d probably have an inch more rake when unloaded.

I think it rides better unloaded than air bags or heavier duty leafs, too.

1 take it out of the water in a weather event

    2. Take it to service

Saw these for sale. About 4 1/2 drive for me. Still on the fence if I want to spend the dough. I’d have to buy new ubolts to take out my 1” block also. I don’t haul or tow much. But from all the comments it seems like an overall upgrade. Does it make the ride rougher? Increases handling but feel bumps more?

Ride isn’t rougher at all, and bumps are easier. The “preload” of the RAS actually makes the ride somewhat softer unloaded and yet supports payload/tongue weight way better than without. It cuts down on sway, too. Basically additional progressive spring when unloaded and helper spring when loaded.
I thought they were too good to be true before I bought them. They live up to their marketing.

Do the +2 shackles work without modification?

Thanks for that input. Seems like a worthy upgrade. Just have to figure out if the +3 shackle I have will make my rear lift too high. Seems like it will be close.

    Installed.

    Took about an hour.

It's easier to install than the Toyota sway bar.

I have the HD RAS. I used the thin tab as the setting.

It raised my bed 1/2 inch.

    Now I have:
    Toyota Sway Bar
Caltrac Tractions bars (in comparison, a BITCH to install)
    RAS HD

does it ride better? insignificant difference. Considering all the shit I had before.
will it help haul the boat? yup.
Did it change the way the truck rides into the rough ass, lunar type, horribly unkept road into warehouse complex? No.

    note:
The RAS did affect the Traction bars a wee bit.
so, I will get under there and adjust them.
You could surmise this by the way the RAS attaches to the axle.

    Am I pleased. Yes.

and, No. I do NOT go off-road.

although, all that crap holding the axle does allow for a bit of articulation.

If I had to make one observation...
You can tell the RAS changes the resonant frequency of the rear suspension.
The Tundra was kind of "floaty" on the hwy....now it's noticeably less "floaty".
    now it's "smoothly lumpy"
still very comfortable. maybe even more so.

    sidebar:
and @Tripleconpanna , I could only achieve the last hole....Lord knows I tried.

Maybe you just needed a little more grip strength to stretch it to the next hole... ;)

All jokes aside.... sounds like the install was seamless, and I'm excited to hear how it does under load w/the boat connected

Very interested in these as I get a lot of sag when I'm towing my travel trailer. However, I only do that a couple times a year and I'm not interested in more lift (from stock) in the rear when I'm unloaded the other 360 days a year.

If you aren't wanting lift.... you will either have to remove these after use and reinstall them when needed. After a few times im sure the install will be 30 minutes and removal likely closer to 10-15.

But airbags may be better for you if you really want no lift.

Don't airbags give a crappy ride unloaded due to needing to keep 5 psi in them minimum? Not really interested in messing around with those.

I can't speak to that, never had them. Just normally here folks talk about these verse airbags and no the airbags don't provide lift. So figured that would be better. Sumo springs may be worth looking in to. To maintain ride quality unloaded, you may still end up with sag but they should be able to help with sag amount when loaded.

Set it to the minimum setting(I forget which color disc, white I think?) and you'll get maybe .5" lift. I didn't want the additional lift either but it's 1000% worth it for the performance both towing and unloaded, and not THAT noticeable visually.
