Some wanted me to update and post about my upcoming trip. So I figured I’d make a thread and start it as I am leaving within a couple weeks. I will update with what I’ve purchased and installed. This trip is geared towards photographing around the U.S. and meeting up with Army buddies.

I am running stock suspension and tires. I’ll be running dual battery for recharging equipment and running a fridge. I have a rtt, element fridge, and decked drawer system to store gear. I have 2- 3 gallon gas cans, 2 - 1.75 gallon water cans and a portable shower.

I’m starting from Maine, heading to Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Arkansas, Texas, to AZ, CA, up the coast to Oregon and Washington, back down to Utah and then work my way home. I am guessing this is going to be a 45-60 day trip. It won’t always be glorious as I will stay at campgrounds as I’ll need to do laundry and take real showers at times.

I’ll be shooting landscape, some night stuff and hopefully some wildlife. This will be my first real attempt at something like this, so they’ll be some learning curves. Here are a couple pictures to keep this post a little less boring. The night shot is last weekend at Acadia National Park. The last two are from Lubec.

Any how, hope you find some amusement. Feel free to follow me on Instagram @whoimages @thenomadicway is my personal one. B1CA2BF5-5EF1-447A-870F-35816EAF994B.jpg366C142B-D9A4-4DF6-AFA3-9374118A07CD.jpg 2DCC01D7-F8EC-4267-92B5-673A34D8850E.jpg70831B26-AC2C-4112-91E9-7F83AA36A74B.jpg

If my kids were older and self-reliant, I’d be right there with you. When I was 20, 3 of us drove from Detroit to LA, up to Vancouver and across Canada over a month.

Photography is a passion, so many awesome American landscapes, and I’d be a Vivian Maier on the streets. Utah/Arizona is on my bucket list.

Looking forward to your updates. Have a great time!

I have a couple of 5DIV’s too (for weddings), I’d totally share my lenses and filter/grads lol. I’d like to head to Iceland sometime as well, she’s my fave in that area:

I really want to go there as well. I currently only have 2 polarizers. I want to get a 10 stop and maybe 6 but stuff is so expensive. Plus I need to save for a new tripod. Mine is good for now but it fell apart on my trip to Acadia

Haida makes decent budget-ish filters and I often see used Lee filter holders.

Those are nice astro shots! What lens are you using for them?
