Yeah, I can't imagine that I'll ever fill the 160 GB up. The nano that i got from my daughter is maxed. Fortunately we have similar tastes in music, except she went through a Kayne West phase. After Kanye told me about his large manhood and how going to college would make you a bankrupt drug addict, I tried to delete him. Didn't work. My other daughter's boyfriend knew how, so score.

Back to road trips, iPods work for me. But I have an ancient, 6 yo head unit. Finding a way to wire in an 8 track or cassette would be awesome. It seems like the best solution is to use your phone. Maybe you can make phone calls too?

Another vote for Spotify. My 45 year old self just discovered Spotify. I don't even pay for premium, I have various playlists saved (80s hits, 90s hits, 70s hits, hair bands, etc.) and I have yet to hear an ad.

I'm not familiar with Pandora, and I'm barely familiar with Spotify. But I have heard (don't quote me, I'm not positive, just what I've heard) that people can upload their playlists to Spotify and get paid a few cents everytime someone plays their playlist. I have several playlists saved to my favorites on Spotify and they're all great. Again, no ads so far just listening to playlists. Your mileage may vary. The playlists I have saved are: 90s alternative rock, All Out 80s, 80s & 90s Hair Bands, All Out 70s, Best of Rock: 1990, All Out 90s, 90s Pop Rock Essentials, and Rock Classics.

I can't get that to work for me. It shows downloaded on the Spotify app, but I can't find it anywhere on my phone. :notsure:

Edit: It looks like you can only find them in the app itself. Since I'm on a shared account, and you can only listen on 1 device at a time, I was hoping it would download to my phone so I could listen to that while another device was using Spotify.

The downloaded playlists are still in the app. Try turning off your data and wifi and seeing if it works.

    That was easy. Thanks folks.

Just loaded up all the CD’s onto a few USB memory sticks I had laying around.

Simple. Just plug them into the dashboard USB port and the truck does the rest. The truck can even shuffle the tunes if wanted.

Separate from the phone or other devise, the memory sticks are the way to go. At least for me.

    Checking out Spotify next.

Pandora you can't pick songs, it's just generated playlists. Spotify you pick songs, and their generated playlists suck ass for the most part.

I didn't realize I was so young or technologically savvy until seeing this thread :D I was gonna say I'm surprised OP can operate a 2021 tundra and not know what a cell phone can do, but I guess my dad is like that (minus owning new vehicles). Just old people things I guess

Load up the USBs until your computer says they're full.

My problem is that I have about 60 GB of music and only about 15 GB of USB drives.

I'm also a NO PHONE SYNC person. Too f'n much evil out there. So I do thumb drives (memory sticks).

Set up folders on your thumb drive. Then go for it. I've put thousands and thousands of songs on a single thumb drive that way. Each folder can be a playlist. Or album. Or artist. You can then also have folders within the primary folder.

The smallest thumb drive you can regularly buy these days is 8GB. You can get them for about $6.00 apiece ( https://www.newegg.com/p/pl?d=flash+drives&N=600566422 100008022 ). Stoopid how inexpensive it has gotten to tote your music around these days.

Easy there Buckaroo. You'll be old like us one day too. Some of us are from the generation before cable TV, video games, and bicycle helmets. I actually had the first Texas Instruments (TI) digital watch. Push the button and the time lights up in red numbers.

Spotify premium family account. Has all the songs we want and can download for offline use in the Spotify app. Super easy and convenient.

iTunes here. Create playlists, and Apple will build playlists of music you don’t normally listen to based on your listening history. They do a pretty good job.
When you get out of cell range, I have a lot of my music uploaded, and I too carry an old big iPod with thousands of songs and albums, plus stand up comedy. My 2018 will still ply that as well.
