Update. Decided to finally have a go at sealing off the Leer shell leakage issue. Using a hose i found only very mnor leakage from the windows i can fix later. The real leakage came from where the bed seal stops and the camper shell seal starts at the front of bed. A lot of water comes through on right side of shell primarily but both sides leak. Lifted bed on rolls of painters plastic then used Dap black heavy duty exterior/flexible sealer. As I had the shell up I also did a thin bead along entire front bed rail/seal though i wish I'd done a little thicker. Just didn't want that sealer showing everywhere. Put copious amount on both side where gap was and then dropped down shell and tightened. I could see caulk pushed through in right places but put more on exterior and then a very thick bead inside the total width up inside bed where shell meets truck bed. Waiting a few hours before I drive it but hopefully this will resolve my wet bed during rains.... Got a chance to clay the truck then wax it a day ago.....

I was going to suggest butyl tape for sealing it.

It's fairly easy to raise the shell. If this doesn't work, and it looks like a good chance it will, I will try both caulk, tape, and weather strip. I'm not sure it's the bed rail seal but the missing bed rail seal in that one section that allows the water to run along that seam in the metal and underneath the shell. One thing I did notice is that the right side of the camper shell sits slightly further back than the left side (i tried to correct this when reinstalling but wouldn't budge closer) and the water more easily reaches that seam. There is hole just below the seam (that I thought was problem at first) but that does not run into the truck. It runs underneath the liner so the water has to come in through the bed rail between the topper right where that missing section is. This is California so I will have to simulate rain with a hose in a couple days as there is no storm on the way.

Passed water test.:amen:. Sprayed water right at it and no leak., not a drop....hopefully for a while. Defeats the purpose to have leaky shell. Will pull up it up again and do it with all the above mentioned methods if this doesnt last.
