Per their recommendations, I removed the Bully Dig tune before installing the CAI. I just now put the performance tune back in but have not driven it since. I will let you know tomorrow. On a stock tune, I did notice the engine sounded a bit better.

Put the BD performance tune back on and tried it out today. I also have the TRD exhaust so I can't necessarily feel a difference in performance because it already felt good. Sound wise normal driving sounds about the same but you can definitely hear a difference when you get on it. Sounds really good.

I don't know if you would gain anything performance wise over your AFE drop in, but the S&B does look very cool without having to sacrifice that performance. Honestly, the look was one of the main reasons I got mine.

I've been looking at the RKS hood for a while, this might help me pull the plug. Truck is Sky Silver, wondering if the hood scoop matte would look good or if the entire hood should be silver.

    Thoughts?

That's a tough call. My first thought was to go all silver because the grill is all silver as well as the bumpers. Then I got to thinking that the matte black would provide contrast and would look good too. I think either way is a winner. Maybe if you have someone that could photoshop the black onto the current hood to see what you think looks best to you.

Don't know if this one is the same as what the OP installed, but $80 for a hood scares me. I'm a firm believer you try what you pay for and something seems wierd about this one.

That’s definitely not the same one.. this one new is like $930 after shipping. I’ve read some horror stories from other brands. And to be honest if this one has its kinks, i can’t imagine the others!

Looks great, man. I have the same hood, its all blacked out cuz the truck is already black didnt know what else to do. I think you should do the heat extraction vents in black also, you can't even see them.

Can anyone help me with the RK Sport hood underline? I am trying to reinstall my wiper fluid and also am wondering how I could run my nsv cords as well.

@mxz83 could you help me with how you ran the wiper blades and did you slightly re-drill the front bumper lip?

Love the rig looks bad a$$!! Now that a year or so has gone by, what do you like about the hood and what do you not like? Do you feel it was worth the cha-Ching overall?

Would it Still be a benefit to the truck if you didn’t have a CAI? I understand the overall principal but I can imagine it’s always better to have fresh recycling air moving through the engine bay especially if it help reduce heat.

what did you end up coming up with? I wondered if the NSV is compatible with the hood as well.

    Thanks
