If it were my only vehicle, I absolutely would have by now! Luckily I'm not relying on it for anything

We're under contract in Aurora. House was listed at 510 and they got no action. Dropped it down to 499, still no action. We offered 485 they countered with 490. It seems the low to mid 400s has a lot of bidding battles.

The way she explained it is a lot of the "starter homes" in the upper $400k range have stalled as interest rates went up, making it harder for first time home buyers. That, and those buyers usually want to be moved into new homes before the school year starts. People that are buying homes late summer are looking at nicer finished homes, people moving for work, ect.

M3 maintenance day! I only just got these ramps and WOW lol, saves so much time and effort over the processes of jacking up the car.

Oil change, new oil, fuel, air, and cabin filters.

Also grabbed an oil sample to send off to Blackstone. Need to make sure the rod bearings aren't f'd yet. Those are notorious for failing on the earlier year E46 M3's.

Called Prime Time Auto Body yesterday to get an update. He said I'm fourth in line to be towed in for work to start. Said it should be under 2 weeks.

^^^^ Hilariously funny!!!!^^^ I do not understand how come an estimator has not been out to total the vehicle?? It boggles the mind!!! I have never seen anything like this chain of events that has occurred!? Strange indeed! So sorry they are continuing the “Jerk You Around Process”!!

Got a lead on a new job, that would require me driving around a lot more. I should get some super efficient vehicle, but that's no fun. Did a search for AWD high mpg sports cars, and Corolla GR ticks that box perfectly! Seems to be a few in Denver area. It's the front runner for a daily driver replacement when I get rid of the Tundra.

That shop visit will be next week with any luck, week after at the latest. Then who knows how long to fix or total it.

Thinking about it more, I'd probably try and trade in the Tundra for the GR. With any luck I'll get $50-52k for it, and I still owe $33k. So $17k down and carr cost $45k to my spec, MSRP. Round that up to $50k after taxes and whatnot. And I'm back at a $31-33k loan. Really don't need two sports cars, so then sell the M3. That should bring in $20-25k easy. And then just knock down the rest of the loan with truck part sales lol

Ohh, I hope used Tundra prices have been maintaining there in your region for you, they've crashed where I live, irking me slightly. I could've bought a truck with half the mileage and into a Limited for the price I paid for my SR5 last year.

The GR Corolla is my fiance's target when her Impreza is ready to send down the river in a year or two. Great pick. I hope the job thing pans out!!

I have been looking hard at M4/3 cars lately.

We'll have to chat about maintenance costs and what not sometime. BMW just raised their shop time to over 330.00 hr. 500.00 for an oil change...get outta here. The normal maintenance looks pretty reasonable.

Wow, that's super high! I got lucky and bought my E46 M3 from an exotic car dealership in Denver. They sold me a lifetime warranty on the car for $4300. Has a $100 deductible. I've gotten them to pay for over $10k of work so far! I only paid $100 of the $5300 for my SMG Hydraulic pump replacement lol

Fingers crossed!! If they total the truck, I'm definitely going to be hard with them about the final payout. They've let this drag since March and the truck only has 10,006 miles on it so it has a ton of value still.

I just showed my wife this thread and she was totally blown away.

We just lost my wife's Subaru to hail. They (USAA) came out, totaled it out in 10 minutes and had a 20K check deposited in 3 days. Now to find a replacement vehicle...which has been difficult.

    IMG_1726.jpg IMG_1727.jpg IMG_1728.jpg

Our house was hit the next day and we probably have 60k in damages and suspect no issues with that claim.

In the past 10 years, we have had 3 total loss vehicles, a person ran into my wife's brand new Subaru a few months after we purchased it, total loss on our camper, etc. Never have we even had an issue like this. Mind blowing.

I would. If you plan on selling in October it will either come off your bottom end or theirs.

    Thanks for the link

Spoke with Prime Time Auto Body this morning. They said the truck should be towed in this week! They are waiting for State Farm to tow out two totaled vehicles to make room for my truck.

About 10 years ago, they bought the company I worked for & eliminated my position. I got swag (when they acquired them) & a nice severance.

Oh cool! The company I currently work for uses them already as a parts vendor. I spoke with one of their local techs and he said they're the best field tech company he's worked for, compared to OEM's like Dell, HP. Overall it would be a $10k pay cut at the top of their salary range, but their Insurance is 100% paid, and yearly bonus are both slightly better than what I get now.

Well, I heard back from them today and they've tendered an offer to another candidate. Granted, my first interview was late in the game, when they where already doing final interviews. Said they'd love to reach back out if something opens

Lol I'm definitely not in the market for any new ones! The upkeep on my nearly 20 year old M3 is enough :spending:

But really the only major thing I have left to do on it is the rod bearings. Waiting on the oil analysis so I can have the warranty cover the cost. $2500

So, new lead in the hit and run. A neighbor from down the street had said at the time there was a truck he thinks was it, that only comes to the neighborhood occasionally. He just rang my doorbell and said that truck was back. I drove by to look, no visible damage but I didn't get out to check.

It's just a fleet rental truck, so probably not even the same truck, but likely the same guy. I'm wondering if I or someone knows how to look up a license plate. I'm wondering if I can find the fleet rental company and ask if they had anyone return a wrecked truck on March 23rd 2023. Long shot but it's something....

    CO. Flt BRS 829

And here's a link to the crash audio and truck driving away. Definitely not the same trucks. Looks like one that hit me has some sort of faded graphic on it. But could still be same dude in newer truck: https://youtu.be/kHsZlZOkM8U

Yup, 100% different trucks. I’m 1/2 certain that the one in your video is a Chev 3500 cube van, though it might be a Ford E-350. It’s certainly not an International 4300 5 ton like you have the plate number of. But as you say, it could be from the same fleet or rental.
