I’m liking this myself for my 21 Pro but it’s up between this and the diamond back. But that price wow.

Bump. Trying to figure out what other racks can be made compatible with the T Slots in the Retrax pro xr cover. Looks like MaxModular sells the brackets that slide into the t slots that then allow mounting of the voodoo rack. what are my other options?

Not sure, the Max Modular is the only one I've seen from my limited research.

Can that cross member closest to the tailgate be relocated temporarily or not used at all if I am not using a RTT or anything else bearing weight from the top > downwards?
I need to be able to fit my dirt bike in the bed.

You won't find a rack that is compatible with a Retrax cover that will allow you to do that.

If you want a cover, a rack, and a tent, we would suggest putting the bikes on a hitch mounted rack.

Looks good! Are you getting any leaking? I installed the Retrax myself and I'm getting some water coming along the sides behind the wheel well (closer to the tailgate). I wonder if I don't have the cover wide enough? Also, are you getting any rubbing on the Retrax where the bed makes contact upon closure? I don't know if we're closing the tailgate to hard or it's too close to the tailgate (I used the spacer tool), but it has definitely gouged out a little spot.

i had leaking along the sides, it’s important that you apply pressure on the side rails AS you tighten the clamps. If you call retrax they can send you a guide on water intrusion. Retighten the clamps with downward pressure on the side rails (just have someone sit on the rails) and re tighten the clamps, as for the tailgate leaking you can buy a universal weatherstrip kit that will help alot

Thanks for the advice on the rail pressure. I'll give that a try today. As for the tailgate, it's keeping water out. The issue I have is that where the Retrax rail ends, it hits the tailgate lip in such a way that it's gouging plastic off the tailgate. I thought I had pushed it all the way up towards the cab at install, but perhaps it should go up a little further.

I have to agree. I helped a buddy install his on his Tacoma and this rack is outstanding. Install is not bad and is a really solid rack.

Top notch customer support as well.
Had a couple questions and called at 8:00am and someone answered the phone number and was not even in the shop.

I have no need for a rack at the moment but I sure am trying to find one!!
I want a retrax to replace my Gator EFX. Zero gripes with the EFX just want the slider style.

Wish you guys offered a simpler version. I just need 4 posts and a couple rails that fit into the t slot of my Retrax XR Pro. Thule and Yakima offer them, but I don't see that you guys do, unless I'm missing something?

These mount under and come out from the Retrax (or any cover) so you still have full use of the Retrax cover.
Arguably a bit more space than the brackets that mount into the t slot on the Retrax as you are gaining a few inches of width for your base on each side.

Over this winter we will be developing crossbars that mount to the Retrax rail. Right now we're just trying to stay ahead on orders.

Just ordered xr rails and am looking into the yakima overhaul HD tonneau set but I’ma but confused. Can I not just buy the whole set ready to go? Looks like I can buy the towers with the tonneau kit bundle but it doesn’t come with the HD crossbars. Is this correct? Thanks for the info

Typically, the crossbars are sold separately.
I think one reason is that there are 3 different sizes to choose from.
If you can find some refurbished, I recommend snagging them. I saved quite a few bucks and they looked brand new.

That’s a good idea I wonder where I could find some. Just thought it was weird that it doesn’t come together as a set where you could pick the size you need and just be done
