    Hello all. I'm new here.
Just bought a 2016 crew cab SR5. I think I'm going to get the retrax Powertrax MX tonneau cover for it so I can store my tools securely under it. However I'd like to use my bed rail system and the toyota cargo gate/bed divider to keep stuff from sliding. The place I'm buying the cover from says the divider can't be used with the cover closed. Since I have neither the cover or the divider at the moment I don't know if there's a way to flip over the mounts with the knobs so it might allow more clearance. Any help/suggestions is appreciated. I really want to use some type of gate with existing rail system that will work with the retrax. Thank you all.

Check out the BAK Revolver X2. It's a hybrid hard/soft tonneau. It comes with brackets to drop the tie down system so that it can still be used. Pretty sweet setup. I just installed one on my truck.

I've got the Retrax PRO MX and the cover mounts directly to the bed rail system which is one of the reason I wanted it, it keeps the integrity of the whole thing. But I don't have the divider but I'm thinking if you call your local Toyota dealer and ask them if it drops below the bed rail system you'd get your answer.

I have the Toyota bed divider and deck rail system. Here are pics of how the divider mounts to the rails and how tall it is. Hope that helps answer your question:

@RowdyRon thsnks for the pics. So you could turn that L bracket upside down so the knob faces down correct? That migh allow clearance for a retrax tonneau cover.
@MT Madman Have you had any problems with your retrax pro leaking through the aluminum slats? Not at the seals at the edge where where it meets the truck. I've seen some videos that people posted leaking through the slats. It's got me leary to pay so much for something leaks through the aluminum slats.

@RowdyRon is the height adjustable on the divider. I have BAK Revolver X2 with the rail system and I had to attach my factory rails to a supplied bracket.

I have not tried to mount the bracket in that manner but it might work. Interesting question......

I've read that some covers have to have the rails dropped down some with a bracket to fit. That I why most ask you if you have the factor deck rail system or not when you order the cover.

Welcome from WI! The powertrac will work just fine with the factory rails as the clamps for the cover simply slide into the rails. The divider however, may pose a problem. If the mounts can be flipped so that the knob is underneath I believe you'll have enough clearance for the cover to travel above it as the Powertrax doesn't have the latch like the other Retrax covers. BUT...because of the width of the Retrax rails it will be impossible to remove the divider from the bed because you won't be able to remove the knobs and lift it out of the sliding mounts. I don't know if it's possible to slide the divider out at the rear, @RowdyRon may be able to provide that answer. If it can be, you'll still have to remove the rear clamps that secure the Retrax rails to do that. Also, because of the clamp placement in the rails you'd end up only having about 3 feet of travel fore and aft with the divider. Retrax is an excellent cover. Ive been installing them for several years now and havent had any leaking issues in regards to the slats or canister. I do always tell my customers though, with a smile, the only thing water tight in this world is a frogs ass. Truck beds were never built to keep water out so a little trickle in the front corners or at the tailgate is not out of the ordinary, especially on trucks like ours with plastic bedcaps. One other thing to consider and this is just food for thought, but the Powertrax canister is about 12" x 12" the full width of the bed, so on a crewmax where the bed is only 5 1/2' you stand to lose a pretty good chunk of space at the front of the bed.

That is ridiculously high for the divider. @Roman should be able to beat that price hands down.

Yes, the cargo divider mount enters and exits the deck rails at the tailgate end. The plastic finish pieces on the ends of the rail simply slide out.

Cool, thanks Ron!! I wasn't sure if the sliding mounts would clear the bed posts or not. I learn something new on here every day :)

@RowdyRon @duece292 thanks so much for the info. I have the factory toyota rails and I know the retrax can be attached to that. I want a retractable cover but I realize if I want water tight I'll need to get the fiberglass kind. However it appears whatever I get I will pretty much lose the ability to use the cargo divider. If I do use it I will have to take the rear clamps off, which I don't want to do. So I will probably end up going with the powertrax pro. That being said, I will have to use a cargo bar to keep stuff from sliding in the bed. And suggestion on what would work best with the plastic bed liner that came on the truck? I'm thinking of getting line x or rhino liner type lining later. But for now I've got to deal with plastic liner

@trustdrummer, Erickson makes a good cargo bar, #8908 is the ratcheting style and is easier to use than the twist style and will work fine with any type of liner. You can also use a 2x6, 8, 10 in the board slots in the bedliner. The powertrax is a great cover and as far as water tight goes it seals up very well. I just always try to make my customers aware of potential leaks but I think it's safe to say that it'll be 98%. To take care of the other 2%, when I install one I use butyl rubber under the corners of the bedcaps and to fill any gap between the bedcaps and bedliner. It just helps to keep any water from finding it's way in at the front of the bed. At the tailgate I use a bulb gasket called trailseal. It's adhesive backed and helps to close the gap around the tailgate. It works great for keeping water from blowing thru in carwashes as well as keeping dust and fine snow from getting in. Hope that helps.

@trustdrummer , if you are going to use a cargo bar with your plastic bed liner, I would check the bed liner walls to see if there are any indentions to fit your cargo bar ends/feet into when you tighten it down. I've used the same set up before and, if you don't have some indentions in the bed liner walls, the plastic can be slick and not allow the cargo bar to hold securely.

This divider has me intrigued, I'll have to watch and see if it works with the cover.

We can get one, however we don't ship those out. I've shipped too many out and had them come back damaged, so they are sold in store only.

Loading Zone is another cargo divider that might be worth a look.

2017 Tundra TRD Pro CM - Super White
I have the Bakflip X2 and had to drop the bedrails using Bak's supplied "s" bracket. I went by my local dealership today and tried to install the cargo divider. Although there is enough clearance from the bottom of the bed (it also fit with my bed rug installed), the divider is about 1/2" too long to fit due to the "S" bracket coming in a bit on each side. If you cut the bar a 1/4" on each side you could make this fit, and still have the clearance to close your hard tonneau cover.

I would have bought the cover today, but I just moved and don't have the tools to cut the bar down. I'm trying to find a local fab shop that will help me out. I'll post pics when I get it done.
