being the closest "big" city to the border, I see a lot of trucks and cars from all manufactures that we don't get in the states, like Hilux and sub compact Rams.

17k miles. This is a pretty standard build with the head/intake/cam/exhaust.

We are having some pretty loud thunderstorms right now. House has been shaking.

Funny....I want something comfortable (rides decent/seats):
-corvette Z06 is not that. The 2012-13 seats are the best it's going to get.
    -Shelby is comfortable

    Something that handles well:

-Shelby '13-14 is ok in comparison. newer Mustang GT500 is bad ass.
-Corvette's are amazing. Depending on how serious of a driver the dry sump may need to be modified due to the amount of G's these cars can pull.

    Reliability:

-The 5.8/5.2L trinity/Predator motors are rock solid.
-6.2L LS9 engines are pretty good.
7.0L have head issues that need to be fixed. Once fixed correctly pretty solid motors. LS3 (grand sport) is arguably GM's best ever produced NA motor.

    Cost:

This is where it gets sporty.

ZR1 09-13 you might get into one for 70k. Realistically 75-80k

Z06 2008-13 will range from 45-65k. Most sit in the middle 50's. Some have heads fixed but better verify who did the work.

Mustang 13-14 GT500 is all over the place. A good average is 56-62k for a car that has under 28k miles (usually 15k miles or less)

Newer Shelby 20-22 GT500 is 70-100k. Performance is through the roof.

Ford GT S800 package 2024 with 810 hp and factory warranty 58-66k. Does this package add handling and brakes? Nope....just a buttload of speed. Haven't been able to verify if the 10 speed auto is modified to handle that power. The Getrag standard is not able to handle the power. Now if you purchase a Dark Horse the Tremec 6 speed can handle it...then add the SC.

Then I start looking at open road racing. There is one car manufacture that dominates until the speed drops down to under 120 mph.

    https://bborr.com/archives/2023-race/results/

I agree though. The 13-14 Shelby checks a lot of boxes. Do I really need to do open road racing? Probably not...but it sure is a blast.

Nah. I've never hated the Mach E looks. Just that they used the Mustang name. I'm not delusional though. The only EV that is remotely viable, IMO, is a Tesla. They just aren't really engaging visually.

Well, made my first offer on a car. 2014 Ford Shelby GT500, Track Pack, all options except glass roof (which I do not want), 14500 miles and factory..no mods.

No. It is in CA. If we come to an agreement on the price, I will fly out and cannonball run that bad boy home.

He's going to want to drive it and with his short arms he'll have the seat way forward and the wheel all the way back. Very inconvenient. :p

Why I chose to make an offer on the Shelby first:

-I do want a Corvette again...but I have owned one. Try something new. The wife will enjoy driving that bad boy. The look on her face when she did a full throttle 3-4 shift was pretty good. With the boost on a Shelby...might see her "O" face.
-Call me crazy, but I like rowing gears in a muscle car.
    -Own a little history.
-We talked about going up to a certain amount for a car, but I just can't do it. Registration fees in CO are ridiculous, and my buddy that let me test drive his 2014 pays 87.00 per year. I want to stay under 60K.

Reg fees in this state are freaking retarded. So done with CO.
