Resolved: Power steering fluid leaking into bellows

Maybe I'm looking at it wrong, but I thought those were for the pressure lines that go from one end of the rack to the other. I've wondered if they aren't the same size

 

If the lines and the flares are the same size, probably so

 

It's still odd. I have not been able to find them on a diagram. But i'm obviously looking in the wrong place since @bmf4069 found them

 

when I google the part number for that O-ring in the diagram, it only returns references to the pressure lines.

I'm still looking just to put my mind at ease. I just feel like if it was the same one you would get returns referencing the line coming from the pump, return line, and the pressure lines

 

So that part I'm not sure of. I bought the lines, but had the kids in autoshop class at the school I was working on install them.


However, upon inspection of the Suosong hoses on RA, it looks like they do.

 

I'm still having no luck with this. This is the equivalent diagram of what we looked at at the Toyota dealership. It does not show the O-rings

I believe that is the part that I had found, but I believe it is for the pressure lines that go from one end of the steering rack to the other. All the racks come with that included and assembled

These are the O-rings where the lines connect to the steering rack from the Power steering pump and the return line that goes to the PS fluid cooler

maybe they're the same. But then they should be in one of the diagrams somewhere.

 

I didn't look close enough at that at first to even see those black O-rings

but where the hell do you get them?

If they're the same size as the other ones and I guess it's worth a try then that's fine.

 

Same for all 4 on the small lines.

Not sure of they're the same for the 2 bigger ones. Those come on the lines. You could pull them to compare before ordering.

 

I don't mind ordering them. They're cheap. I guess I'm just being stubborn and hardheaded.

If you can find those four O-rings for the pressure lines, which are all the same part number, then why can't you find a part number or reference to the two O-rings on the other line? There's absolutely no reference to it anywhere that's the reason we first thought there were no O-rings.


I did just look at the old rack and those 2 both appear to be the same.




and I don't see O-rings in the steering rack as you can see in that picture and I don't recall there being any on those two lines when I disconnected them
