Okay wizards, I am having the hardest time getting the air out of the power steering system. Either that, or I have a bad reman OEM rack. I tried the alldata instructions of jacking front wheels off the ground, open power steering reservoir, turn steering wheel slowly from lock to lock, holding for 4 - 5 sec at each lock. Lower car, start car, let idle a few minutes, turn steering wheel from lock to lock slowly, holding for 4 - 5 sec at each lock. I left the reservoir cap off over night, hoping an air bubble might work its way out.

The steering is fighting like crazy on many turns. Always fights me if I need to make a tight turn as the wheels approach turn capacity. Sometimes fights me when turning left from a stop. Sometimes fights me when turning left or right while moving forward. It is especially bad in the mornings, or when the engine is cold.

Yes, it is a new ps pump and reservoir. Yes I used Dexron ATF in the system. Yes, the fluid level is correct. No, I haven't seen any bubbles in the reservoir.

Any suggestions I should try before taking to a mechanic to get the rack certified as bad?
