So here's my .02 worth once more. First you try easy route. ( Soak with PB Blaster overnight) smack with maul. Not working? Suggestion #2. HEAT IT WITH TORCH!!!!. You could try a small propane torch from home cheapo, but don't think it will be enough. You need to put some serious heat on it, then let it cool. Then smack again with your maul. Steel expands then retracts with heat. Trust me, been using a torch all my working life. Worst case scenario, take it to a shop where they have a torch and have them remove it.

Seeing the side to side movement when you whack it, I think the PO did something else to secure it towards the inside. Make sure there aren't any holes drilled with a pin or bolt going through. Or like a wire behind it holding onto it. Gotta drop the spare and see.

    Guys guys.. I'm laughing here..

If the hitch is made out of iron and the receiver is made out of aluminum they will fuse together.. if he is where the salt roads thats a permanent weld.

    Metallurgy ring a bell?

Mike you are correct, you have oxidation (steel), and aluminum (corrosion) , putting heat on it will get it out. At this point, I don't know why someone would use aluminum hitch in a steel receiver (dissimilar metals) cc tundra would be best to remove both and install new one.

I thought it was a stainless hitch. I have a basic one in my garage. Never thought they would use in aluminum hitch to tow anything. Sounds like a bad idea.

I was looking at these pictures again to see if it was stainless (which I still think it is). There is an Allen head screw just behind the ball. Do you think that is some sort of screw that pushes against something inside the hitch to pinch into the receiver to help with rattle?

OK I retract my stainless statement as I looked into it further.
Check out this link I found the trailer hitch he's using online. This one you use a key just behind the ball to release the hitch. Although I know he's had a pin installed there must be something inside of it causing it not to be released. Check out my link https://www.etrailer.com/Ball-Mount...tml?feed=npn&gclid=CLHhnbr_79ICFZBafgodcRQOgQ
If you scroll down to the bottom of the page below the description of the ball it shows someone using the key and it releasing an internal locking pin.
    Boom bitches!

15whtrd, I could be wrong, but probably not lol, the receiver is mild steel, or as Mike would put it Iron. The hitch is aluminum

I think that's it right there. Nice Sean. It definitely looked like something else was holding it in... and not just rust or something. Hmmmmm, now how to get it out without a key.

Sean. Pretty damn impressive search skills.
But if it's that self locking one how did it have a pin in it too?

I'm thinking that you can put something through the center of it maybe the locking pin so it's like double locked. Basically those two pins that expand to lock it in place maybe Hollow?

I think we have two holes for pins. Maybe he has a longer one and uses both holes. both holes :p But I think we're on the right track.

Could be, like a sleeve. One of the pins I have has a sleeve with it so you could use the pin on a 1" receiver.
