Does anybody have a pointer to directions for removing the dash panel on the passenger side? The part between the air vents. If I buy this truck I think I'd like to swap that diamond pleated panel for the standard wrinkle finish panel but I'm curious how much cussing I'll do to get it apart.
    Thanks

It is an easy change. The are about 12 clips behind it, just pry gently, and it will come right off.

I like that look. If you want to get rid of that fabric I'd be interested in trying it :)

    I agree. I like that black-pleated-70s-guitar-amp look.

If I buy this truck, that dash pad will probably be looking for a new home

I don't mind it on the door panels and the seat tops, but looking at it on the dash.... WTF were they thinking. bleck.

I'm with you on that... glad to hear it's an easy change.
It's not terrible, but I have other preferences for that space.

It was one of the only "complaints" I had when I first say the trim.

If you're getting the truck from a Toyota dealer, make them change it as part of the deal. If not, I agree with the chew toy comment.

It's from a dealer but since it's a used vehicle I don't know how much they'll give me, especially since the price is already a "sale" price.
If I could just get away from work to go talk numbers...

Geez, looks like the plain plastic dash panel is ~$145.00 on line. ouch. I guess that will have to wait.
(I bought the truck - I pick it up Wednesday afternoon :D )

That panel is the reason I chose to not test drive the Platinum.

How about the 2 grey pieces on either side of the radio. Any tips on removing those?

The grey plastic around the radio and around the shifter annoys me the most in the truck. The Platinum does use the Lexus leather vs Toyota which is a nice upgrade. I didn't learn that until after I purchased the Limited. I also assumed the Limited would come with a driver memory seat, but it doesn't.

Thanks everyone, I have a couple offers for trades. Perfect:thumbsup:
I get the truck Wednesday afternoon and I'll ride around a few days to see if I like that panel or not. I'll have a couple other takes-offs I'll be throwing up here to see if there is any want also; the tonneau cover(I'm keeping the one I have now) and the factory step bars. Got to get the truck home to see the condition of the parts I don't want before I post them up.

Can't wait to get in the truck :) This will be my third Tundra since I've been on this forum and my sixth Tundra since 2003.

I got the truck last night. Haven't had a lot of seat time yet, but that pleated dash is sorta growing on me...

changed the panel on my Platinum as well...couldn't stand looking at the quilting pattern. Brought it to a fabric guy and he pulled off old skin and put on new one for $25.00.
