Yeah as you guys can see in the videos is really easy nothing to worry about it (except for cutting those 2 wires but nothing that a heat shrink cover and soldering can fix) if you decide to remove the remote start.

Wow!! This is awesome. I had remote start on my old F150 and kind of miss it on my Tundra. Only reason that I did not want to get it on my new truck was because I didn't want to a separate remote control for it. I want to keep using my OEM remote. This is a great option. I don't know if I feel comfortable doing it myself though. I don't want to screw something up. Also, is there a separate part number for the harness. I see the evo is $199.99, but does that come with all the necessary parts? Is the harness separately?

It looks like the harness is separate and around $40, but you can find the evo for $123. I'm actually considering this now. For $200 a remote start using my factory fob is definitely worth it.

EVO ONE is one part (from $105-$129), T-harness ($34.99) is a second part and optional if you don't buy your unit from someone who flash it to use in a specific car you need a third part the Flashlink USB adapter ($43)

This guy sell a complete kit for around $169.99 plus $7.99 shipping

I think so but not sure, there's a lot of configurable options in the flashing software this was my first time doing this kind of stuff :)

Yeah I do a lot of stuff but mostly computers, cell phones and tablets and that's why I don't mind to get my hands dirty with wiring projects ;)

I used 4 t-taps and there are 2 wires to cut one in the parking lights switch and one in the TPMS behind the glove box, A pink wire have to be spliced in the yellow wire from T-Harness

I ordered mine from him. Finally got it installed today. I love it. It's going to be nice not having to sit in the cold truck every morning before taking my daughter to school.

A couple of buddies did almost all of it. I removed all the interior pieces, and they went to town. They used to install for a living. The directions are really easy to understand, and except for the fact that I can't do a decent solder job, I would have done it myself.

If you look on YouTube there is a guy that takes you almost step by step (oriental guy, very detailed and a HUGE help). I did it myself in about 2 hours, it took me longer bc I soldered all the connections.

I didn't realize it would know the hood is open until today. I don't know how it knows, but mine wouldn't work with the hood up. It still wouldn't work after shutting the hood and trying again. If I opened and closed the drivers door though, it would work again. o_O
    Weird

It might get the data from the odbc connection. Good to know the driver door has to open / close!

We don't have any hood pins or even lights though, I don't know what is telling it the hood is up.

Pretty sure it's a setting. If you call, they'll help you turn it off. I didn't install the hood switch either and it wasn't until they guided me on which setting to turn off did it work.
