Good morning Tundra brothers and sisters. I purchased a remote start for my 2017 from 12 volt solution, excellent product. So when I traded it on the 2020 Platinum I asked the salesman about remote start and he said it wasn't factory installed. Surprised and somewhat shocked I didn't question the SALESMAN FOR TOYOTA . So after a little research I discovered that all new TOYOTA'S are equipped with remote start. The only thing you have to do is push lock button three times then hold the button down the third time and wallah it starts. However you can purchase the TOYOTA REMOTE OPTION which allows you to use cell phone to operate the remote start and lock doors and more.

Sorry to those who knew this but when the salesman doesn't know his product we are easily misled.

I just received my new 2020 Tundra and couldn't get an answer about this from anyone. I installed the app on my phone for remote start but no one mentioned the key option.

Yah it's amazing to me that these sales people are selling high dollar items to us and don't divulge pertinent information.
I ask if I could take my remote starter I installed on my 17 and of course they said no. Should have just removed it.
Yah anyway some 18 models all 19/20 come with it

Hang on now. You are saying my 2019 Tundra has remote start from the factory?!?!

I'm skeptical myself, especially since I just installed a 12volt solutions remote start on my 2019. May have to disconnect it and see if it starts? Try it out on yours and let me know if it starts.

2020s all have it from the factory. My 2019 does not.
I did hear that they all have it installed but it's not enabled in all packages not sure I believe that.

I literally just left the dealership 3 days ago. Test drove a limited and sr5 2020. They straight up told me neither trucks had remote start. Now I wanna go back and try this out

I've got a 19 Platinum and can confirm that it does NOT have a factory remote start. When I press the lock button 3x in a row, it simply locks my doors 3x....nothing more, nothing less.

I got a 2019 Sport..either that sequence doesn’t work or I don’t have it. But I was excited and immediately let down. So...thanks?

Did you hold it on the third press? It's not just a triple tap.

Affirmative. Aside from my prior Tundra having it, I currently have 2 other vehicles with remote start, so am familiar with holding it on the 3rd press.

I had the same experience on my 2020. Kind of anticipating that special Christmas present and getting socks.

My 2020 Tundra uses a key and is not the push start so maybe it works on the push start trucks.

Just as AzureNightmare sez, gotta press 3 times, quickly and hold the 3rd press until it starts. Here's the sucky part, the engine turns off when you go to unlock the vehicle. Who designs this stuff? My 01' 4Runner with remote start Held the engine running when I unlocked the doors, WTF?! Luck all. : ^ )))

I've tried it from about 30 yards away and it works, pretty much whatever range the doors would open, perhaps further. : ^ )

My 2020 TRD Pro works, thanks! Thought I had to use the app. I believe the shut off on unlock is an anti theft feature.

It’s so it can’t get stolen, the only person who drive the vehicle off, has the key.

Just got the Evo-One and the THAR-ONE-TOY10 harness for Christmas for my 2019 Platinum. Installed it and everything seems to be functioning except for 2 items.

-Fog Lights. Those no longer turn on. Doesn't matter what mode the headlight switch is in, the fogs will not come on.

-Power Tilt and Telescoping Steering Wheel and Power Seat. When you put the key into the ignition, the steering wheel will come out to your setting, along with the seat will move, This still works if the truck is off before inserting the key, but when it is remote started, this no longer works, and you have to press the memory button to recall the locations. I looked on the Fortin Q&A section for this issue, which had a workaround, but that unfortunately does not work in my truck.

Thoughts? Are these firmware issues? Anyone else with the Evo-One notice this?
